Betts Breaks Through at Home with Georgetown Victory

(May 29, 2026) — Defending series champion Troy Betts finally checked a long-sought accomplishment off his list Friday night, capturing his first career victory in his home state of Delaware during the DCB Plumbing & Heating Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series presented by Capitol Renegade at Georgetown Speedway. The Newark driver started fifth and charged to the front, taking the lead from Cody West on lap 14 before driving away to collect his first RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car win of the season and the fifth MASS victory of his career. Betts also pocketed the $1,000 winner’s share courtesy of Betts Garage Towing and Hauling. Cody West grabbed the lead at the drop of the green flag in the 25-lap feature while fourth-starting D.J. Tanner quickly moved into second and began pressuring the leader. Betts worked his way into third by lap three and soon joined the battle at the front.
