Beckman is best in Eagle Hobby Stock main

(June 9) – Nick Beckman grabbed the lead on lap two and held off all challengers in winning Saturday’s Valentino’s IMCA Hobby Stock feature at Eagle Raceway. “I’d say it’s been four years since I’ve been on the front stretch here. It feels really good to be back in a Hobby Stock,” he said. “I knew I had to get out front and run away. I’m just glad that I was able to hold off all of the fast drivers.” Scott Bivens got the lead on the 11th circuit in winning the Hoosier Racing Tire IMCA Northern SportMod main. Densberger delivers at Eagle

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (June 2) – Mike Densberger ended a too-long absence from victory lane at Eagle Raceway with Saturday’s Runner Freight IMCA Modified checkers. The fifth starting Densberger passed Mike Lineberry for second on lap three and grabbed the lead the next time around. Jordan Grabouski, who had to transfer through the ‘B’ feature took over fourth with four to go and vaulted into second after two more laps but didn’t have enough time to make a play for the front spot. “It’s been a long time, almost three years now. I knew there were a lot of fast cars behind me, so I wanted to get to the front and keep them behind me,” Densberger said. “It was a little rough tonight but after how much rain we got last night you couldn’t ask for a better track. Pace races to IMCA RaceSaver Sprint win at Eagle

(May 26) – Mark Pace was scored first every time around the track in winning his first IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature Saturday at Eagle Raceway. “We parked it tonight on the front stretch, finally!” he said from victory lane. “I love a dryslick race track like we had tonight. Whenever a track takes rubber I always smell it first and get right into it. It makes you a driver. I also like a heavy track where it’s elbows up, but this kind of track is more technique.” Joey Danley, Toby Chapman and Mike Boston rounded out the top four. Jeff Ware and Shawn Harker both won for the third time in four Valentino’s IMCA Hobby Stock and Purdue University IMCA Northern SportMod outings, respectively. Oaks soars to first win at Eagle

(May 12) – Steffen Oaks took the lead with four laps left en route to taking the first checkers of his ATV Motorsports IMCA Sport Compact career victory Saturday at Eagle Raceway. His drive to the front started outside row four. “It took me awhile to finally get a win, with several second places, but I finally got it!,” he said post-race. “It was a really fast track tonight, but man, those bumps about got me a few times. I managed to keep it straight and hold on for the win.” Casey Moyer won his first Valentino’s IMCA Hobby Stock feature since the 2012 season and Lance Borgman raced from 10th starting to win the Purdue University IMCA Northern SportMod main event for the third time already this season at Eagle. Jordan Grabouski got the lead early in winning the Runner Freight IMCA Modified feature and Tyler Drueke took charge with nine laps remaining in winning the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature.

Royal Flush Rush feature win pays Zoubek $1,000

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (May 5) – Bob Zoubek put his name on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot with a $1,000 IMCA Modified win Saturday at Eagle Raceway’s Royal Flush Rush. Zoubek had started 10th and took the checkers ahead of Jeff Schroyer. “The track was really racy. There were two lines and they were both fast,” he said. “We just kind of came through there nice and slow and stayed out of trouble. Jeff kind of had the better line for awhile there, but I finally got around him and drove away a little.” Nate Thompson, Schroyer, Jaxon Saathoff and Justin Wulf had led the field after the initial lap. Chad Andersen cracked the top four on lap two before moving up to third the next time around. Zoubek advanced to fourth following a spin by Andersen. Team Gullion runs 1-2 at Eagle

Adam Gullion not only won his heat and the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car eature but his second car, driven by Zach Blurton, won its heat and came in second in the main. “It was definitely nice. Hobscheidt rules Dirt Dominator field at Eagle

By Mike Spieker EAGLE, Neb. (April 19) – After rounds four and five were canceled due to weather, the Dirt Dominator continued with round six of 16 at Eagle Raceway. In his first-ever trip to Eagle, Jacob Hobscheidt of Plattsmouth picked up the $1,000 Dirt Dominator payday. Hobscheidt began by besting Eddie Belec in the Sweet 16. That wasn’t the only upset of the opening round as early favorites Hunter Marriott, Kelly Shryock and Tim Ward were all handed defeat. Hobscheidt continued to the quarter finals where he faced the defending IMCA Modified track champion Shane Hiatt. Hobscheidt used the preferred high side to grab the advantage on the opening lap of the two lap dash and take the win. Hobscheidt just about saw his hopes of advancing to the finals vanish as he nearly spun out at drop of the green flag during the semi finals against Clint Homan. Hiatt hauls home opening night hardware, Grabouski gets two Saturday wins at Eagle

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (April 20-21) – Defending track champion Shane Hiatt raced his way to victory lane on opening night of Eagle Raceway’s Ice Breaker Challenge. Former track champion Jordan Grabouski accomplished the feat twice on night two. Hiatt earned $1,000 and a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth along with Friday’s IMCA Modified main event. Grabouski, already on the ballot, was best in Saturday’s $2,000 to win headliner and pocketed another $500 for winning the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. The leader from the drop of the Friday night green, Hiatt ran ahead of Mike Densberger much of the distance before his challenger pulled into the infield with five circuits left. After a couple late restarts, Hunter Marriott wrestled the second spot from Grabouski. Dylan Smith and Eddie Belec completed the top five. Saturday featured another field filled with heavy hitters as Grabouski had to take the front spot away from Marriott and hold on. Early entry numbers push 300 for Ice Breaker Challenge at Eagle Raceway

EAGLE, Neb. – Eagle Raceway is going to be the place to be this weekend for nearly 300 IMCA drivers Pre-entries for the 2018 lidlifter now include 49 IMCA Modifieds, 46 IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, 32 IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, 50 IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, 65 Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and 43 Mach-1 Sport Compacts. Modifieds race for $1,000 to win on Friday, April 20 and for $2,000 to win on Saturday, April 21 while Northern SportMods run for $500 to win both nights. The Twice is Nice Challenge pays a cool grand to drivers in either division who can sweep the weekend main events and both Modified features are qualifying events for the 2018 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.
