Beckman is best in Eagle Hobby Stock main
By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (June 9) – Nick Beckman grabbed the lead on lap two and held off all challengers in winning Saturday’s Valentino’s IMCA Hobby Stock feature at Eagle Raceway. “I’d say it’s been four years since I’ve been on the front stretch here. It feels really good to be back in a Hobby Stock,” he said. “I knew I had to get out front and run away. I’m just glad that I was able to hold off all of the fast drivers.” Scott Bivens got the lead on the 11th circuit in winning the Hoosier Racing Tire IMCA Northern SportMod main. Likewise, it had been a while since he’d been to victory lane at Eagle. “It’s been a year and a half since my last win, at least,” Bivens said post-race. “But we just keep chugging along. We’re getting faster this year, so maybe we’ll do this some more.” Already on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot, Jordan Grabouski earned $1,000 for his fifth Runner Freight IMCA Modified feature win of 2018.
