Shatzer Sails to Fast Friday Win At Dixieland

By Jim Haines ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (Jun. 20, 2025) — Dylan Shatzer made the trip to the shore worthwhile, driving the Al Moser-owned sprinter to both a heat race win and the feature victory Friday at Dixieland Speedway with the Virginia Sprint Series. Shatzer and Aaron Leach brought the field to green with Shatzer grabbing the early lead. Leach and Jerald Harris tucked in behind as the fast and smooth surface allowed the laps to click off quickly. Chris Humblet worked his way into fourth while Matt Mullins, Matthew Leach, and Caleb Harris battled for fifth at halfway. Caleb Harris found speed in a new groove and moved into fourth, with Humblet staying strong in fifth and Mullins edging by Bolac for sixth. Bolac sprints to winged win at Dixieland

By Jim Haines ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (June 21, 2024) – Home track advantage worked out well for Daren Bolac, winner of the Fast Friday Virginia Sprint Series feature at Dixieland Speedway. Harris had to deal with Humblet but not for long as with 10 to go, Humblet got by and Bolac was in his sights as the two went at it. Bolac was committed to the high line for the race and Humblet stayed low or midtrack and every corner the lead was in doubt. With five to go, [Read More]

(July 23) – It’s been a few years of top finishes but no wins since 2017 but that all changed as it was back in the Virginia Sprint Series winner’s circle for Chris Ware at Dixieland Speedway.  Ware shot back to take the win in the final Fast Friday event of the year for the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car series at Elizabeth City.  He and Matt Mullins paced the field to green with Mullins out first up high and Ware right behind with Daren Bolac in third. Ware kept on the pressure, Mullins bobbled off turn two and Ware shot to the front, bringing Jerald Harris with him on the bottom. Ware was smooth out front as Harris chased with Billy Hubbard now third and Mike Leraas fourth. Hubbard slipped and spun in turn two, resetting the field and giving them a chance at Ware but off he went again with Harris still second and Leraas third.  The leader started getting into the back of the field as Harris [Read More]
