Battle of the Border Series starts this weekend at Cocopah, Imperial

SOMERTON, Ariz. (March 6) – The inaugural Battle of the Border Series takes four IMCA divisions to Arizona’s Cocopah Speedway for three dates and to Imperial Raceway in California for three more shows beginning this weekend.  IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks chase all applicable IMCA points tonight (Friday), Saturday, March 28 and Saturday, April 11 at Somerton. The same divisions are in action with the same points at stake Saturday, March 7, Friday, March 27 and Friday, April 10 at Imperial. Bonuses totaling $1,400 will be paid out to drivers with the highest point totals over the course of the series. That breaks down to $500 for the Modified point leader, $400 for the Northern SportMod point leader, $300 for the Stock Car point leader and $200 for the Hobby Stock point leader.
