Mills, Reimers clean up with Dirty 30 wins at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (June 3, 2023) – Both Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Northern SportMods shed their tops on Dirty 30 Topless Night presented by Capital Sign Company and 1-800-BetsOff Saturday at Boone Speedway. Jeremy Mills came away with the $1,200 win for the Modifieds and it was Cam Reimers taking the $1,000 victory in the Northern SportMod division. Jimmy Gustin shot to the lead from his pole starting spot as the Modified main began. Gustin looked to be well on his way to capturing the win, still leading at lap 20 while several other drivers continued making their way through the pack. Prestige, big paydays for champions at Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa (June 2, 2023) – Prestige and big paydays are on the line again at the 41st annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Seven champions will be crowned over the course of the Sept. 2-3 Prelude and Sept. 4-9 Super Nationals at Boone Speedway. Those drivers will not only etch their name in the history book of the most prestigious event in dirt track racing, they can take those titles to the bank. The Modified champion earns $10,000 with $7,500 paid to win in the Stock Car main event, $5,000 to win the Northern SportMod main and $3,000 to win the Hobby Stock main, all on the final night Saturday, Sept. 9. VINTON, Iowa (May 31, 2023) – Another 22 Friesen Performance IMCA Modified drivers have become eligible for Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying, winning $1,000 or more features in the past month. Chris Morris topped the Royal Rumble at I-37 Speedway and Chad May paced Silver Bullet’s 70th anniversary season lidlifter. Central California Clash victors included Timothy Allerdings and Rob Sanders. Anthony Roth bested Boone County’s Return of the Modifieds show while Steven Pfeifer and Kody Scholpp claimed W’s at Estevan Motor Speedway’s Border Challenge. Red Race honors at 141 Speedway went to Mike Mullen. Mitchell Clement and Brenda Kirby both won All Star Shootout features. Salute to Veterans winners at Sweetwater Speedway were Tanner Black and Ricky Alvarado. Jesse Williamson sailed to the Modified Clash checkers at Grays Harbor Raceway. 10 more IMCA Stock Car drivers become B & B All-Star eligible

VINTON, Iowa (May 31, 2023) – Ten more IMCA Sunoco Stock Car drivers have stamped B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying eligible on their pre-Super Nationals resume. Two of them – former race winner Kelly Shryock and Jared Siefert – earned guaranteed starting spots with $5,000 checkers at Clay County Classic and Jackson’s Stock Car Challenge, respectively. Dallon Murty, already locked into the 30-car field, counted the $5,000 win at Stuart Speedway’s Whole Hog 50 among his three qualifying wins in May. Peyton Taylor prevailed at Batesville Motor Speedway’s JD Garrison Memorial and Damon Murty paced Clay County’s Spring Shootout. Jason Batt was an All Star Shootout victor. Reimers rules Boone, May takes Corn Belt Clash win

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (May 27, 2023) – It was a beautiful night Saturday for racing at Boone Speedway to kick off the Memorial Weekend. There were 148 cars checked in to provide the crowd with a full night of entertaining racing action. The Stealth Racing STARS Mod Lites ran a 25-lap feature event for their second night of a three-race Corn Belt Classic series. Ben George was the early leader of the main event but had big-time company in the likes of Josh May, Bryce Vowan and Jon Padilla. Bad luck bit George when a lapped car caused him to fall back on lap 10, with May taking over the top spot. May never looked back after getting the lead and would take it the rest of the way home to the win. Second place went to Jon Padilla. Third place was Bryce Vowan. McBirnie from 19th to the win at Iowa’s Action Track

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (May 20, 2023) – Jake McBirnie hotshoed it all the way from 19th to win the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature on a beautiful Saturday night for racing at Boone Speedway. Nick Roberts jumped to the lead from his outside front row starting spot when the green flag flew. Izac Mallicoat started third and tucked in behind the leader. A caution flew on lap 13 and on the restart, Todd Shute got around Mallicoat to take over the second spot. A couple laps later, bad luck would bite Shute when he spun in corner one. As the restart of that caution went green, suddenly it was McBirnie sitting in second place after making his way from the 19th starting spot. A lap later, McBirnie threw a perfectly executed slider in turn two and had the lead with three laps remaining. It was all McBirnie’s race the final circuits as he captured his first win at the track this season. First career wins to Burke, Fye Saturday at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (May 13, 2023) – Boone Speedway avoided the bad weather rumbling around the State of Iowa on Saturday and the show went on as scheduled with Chris Burke and Aron Fye getting career first wins in their respective IMCA divisions. Summer Anderson and Burke led the field of 24 IMCA Friesen Performance Northern SportMods to the green with Anderson jumping to the point. Her night was short-lived, however, as she broke on the backstretch on lap two. This put Burke to the lead as Hunter Longnecker tucked in behind and put on a relentless challenge. Much of the rest of the race was a near side-by-side challenge as Burke kept his momentum up top and Longnecker looked for a way under him. Burke never gave up his advantage and held off all challenges to see the checkers for the first time in his career. First win for Fye on opening night at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (May 6, 2023) – After suffering three straight weeks of rain outs, the Boone Speedway finally got its regular season of track points racing underway on Saturday night and Danny Fye became a first-time Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod feature winner. Fye led all 20 laps, holding back the advances of Cole Fenske in the closing circuits in capturing the victory. Following second place Fenske was hard charger and 15th place starter Braden Richards in third. Randy Bryan had a bit of luck on his side with his win in the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lite contest. He had passed early leader Ben George on lap four to take over the number one spot, but was docked two spots for a jump on the start. Oskvig’s goal is to do Super Nationals race director job so well no one notices

BOONE, Iowa (April 11, 2023) – The goal Grant Oskvig has for his new job is to do it so well nobody notices him. The veteran track official and former flagman is the new race director for the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. He’ll be in charge of organizing cars on the track, making calls, dispatching tow trucks and ultimately everything that happens on the Boone Speedway oval during the entire week of dirt track racing’s biggest event. “The number one thing is consistency. Frostbuster bonus wins to Ward, Jerovetz and Carter

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (April 8, 2023) – Saturday night became bonus night for three drivers as Boone Speedway kicked off its 2023 racing season with a Frostbuster special that saw 166 racing machines checked into the pits. Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods kicked off the feature racing with the running of their 20-lap main event. Brayton Carter started second on the lineup grid and immediately grabbed the lead. Carter had the field covered as he would go on to lead all laps on his way to victory. Taylor Kuehl, last year’s Frostbuster winner, was runner-up ahead of Cam Reimers, Adam Armstrong and Braden Richards. Carter had won the first night of the Frostbuster on Friday at Marshalltown and earned the double bonus payout of $1,000 for Saturday’s win.
