Dewease Breaks Through with First IMCA Sprint Car Victory at Bedford with Laurel Highlands Sprint Series

BEDFORD, Pa. (May 1, 2026) — The Laurel Highlands Sprint Series returned for its second visit of the season to Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway, and Cole Dewease made the most of the opportunity. The Fayetteville driver held off a determined field to capture his first career RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car feature win. Dewease took control early and maintained a steady pace out front, but never had much breathing room. Josh Spicer, already a winner at Bedford earlier this season, quickly moved from fourth to second within the opening laps and kept the pressure on throughout the event. Despite the challenge, Dewease remained composed and consistent, fending off every advance to secure the milestone victory. At the checkers, Dewease was followed by Spicer, Timmy Bittner, Kasey Weaver, and Donnie Hendershot to complete the top five.

Lincoln, Bedford this Saturday and Sunday for PASS

(Aug. 11, 2023) – Two tracks with long but very different histories of River Valley Builders Pennsylvania Sprint Series competition make their only 2023 appearances on the schedule this weekend. Lincoln Speedway will be the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car teams’ destination Saturday night, and on Sunday night the action moves west to Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway, for a co-sanctioned event with the Laurel Highlands Sprint Series. Both tracks hosted their first PASS race 20 years ago. Lincoln will run exactly 20 years and five weeks after its first appearance, and Bedford will host the sprinters two days shy of exactly 20 years since the first show. It needs to be noted, however, that Lincoln hosted the Virginia Sprint Series, the oldest of all RaceSaver regional groups, before its first PASS race. Oathout Opens Santa Maria’s IMCA SportMod Season with Dominant Victory

(May 16, 2026) — Santa Maria Speedway opened its gates Saturday night for another evening of racing action, including the first Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod event of the 2026 season at the facility. With strong family ties to Santa Maria Speedway, Bakersfield’s Sunnie Simkins picked up her first career SportMod heat race victory. Local favorite Matthew Frazier secured the second heat race win of the evening. With it being opening night for the division, the top 10 drivers after heat race competition redrew for the 20-lap feature event. Willy Oathout and Paul Brown led the field to green. Oathout, from San Luis Obispo, grabbed the lead at the drop of the green flag and never looked back on his way to his first victory of the season. Frazier finished second while Alyssa Smith crossed the line in third. Orion Messina charged from 12th to finish fourth while Rich Denman advanced from 10th to round out the top five.
