Night one of Yankee Dirt Track Classic falls to rain

FARLEY, Iowa – Friday’s opening night Yankee Dirt Track Classic show at 300 Raceway has been rained out. Saturday, Sept. 4, will be run as a one-day show. IMCA Modifieds race for $5,000 to win, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both for $1,500.  IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central Region and EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region, and KMJ Performance State points will be awarded.  Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 4 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m.  More information about the Yankee, presented by GTG Peterbilt, is available by calling 563 744-3620.

Three IMCA divisions on 300 Raceway’s 44th Yankee Classic card

FARLEY, Iowa – Three IMCA divisions are on the ticket both nights of the 44th annual Yankee Dirt Track Classic at 300 Raceway. On Friday, Sept. 3, IMCA Modifieds race for $2,000 to win while IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both run for $750 top checks. And on Saturday, Sept. 4, Modifieds race for $5,000 to win, the Stocks and SportMods both for $1,500. Modified feature winners become eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational, Stock Car winners for the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational. First $250 Sunoco bonus of season paid Wednesday to IMCA Late Model winner at Farley

FARLEY, Iowa – The payday is bumped up for the winner of Wednesday’s opening night main event for IMCA Sunoco Late Models at 300 Raceway. The first $250 Sunoco Race Fuels bonus of the season will be paid to the May 12 Late Model winner at Farley, making the top check a cool $850. Sunoco bonuses will be presented at Late Model sanctioned tracks again this year. Drivers are eligible for one bonus during the 2021 racing season.  IMCA will announce mid-week before the dates bonuses are to be awarded at each track.  The grandstand at Farley is open and general admission is $10 for adults, with race fans 12 & under and seniors 70 & older getting in free. Hot laps are scheduled to take to the track at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow at 7 pm.

300 Raceway fine tuning for June 3 opener

FARLEY, Iowa – With one practice session left for fine-tuning, promoter R.J. Simon had a promise for IMCA drivers looking forward to opening night next Wednesday at 300 Raceway. “It’s going to be one of the fastest tracks you’ve seen at Farley,” he predicted, with IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Late Models, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods all on the June 3 card.  The evening’s program will be held in honor of the late Randy Mackey, a long-time track employee at Farley. Gates open at 5 p.m. and racing follows 6:30 p.m. hot laps. “We have a test and tune this Friday. We’ve already gotten a lot of good feedback from drivers and we’re really stoked about this season,” Simon continued. “We’ve looked forward to being able to open the grandstands and have made a lot of changes to the track (from regrading to making entries and exits more driver-friendly).
