Reimers sails to rich Captain of the Creek checkers

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (Aug. 19) – Cam Reimers sailed to the $10,000 checkers in the Captain of the Creek feature for IMCA Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods at 141 Speedway. Then he enjoyed some more Wisconsin hospitality, signing autographs and sampling barbeque in the pit area at Francis Creek along with several hundred new friends. The outside front row starter led all 50 laps of the Thursday night main event, keeping Jayden Schmidt in second most of the distance before holding hard charger Elijah Koenig at bay the last four times around the track. LaCrosse repeats at 141 King of the Creek, IMCA Stock Car checkers good for $10,000

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (July 22) – He’s won a lot of big races, but the finish to Thursday’s King of the Creek 50-lap main event for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars impressed even Benji LaCrosse. FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (June 17) – The IMCA Modified driver they call ‘The Hitman’ was a big hit with his 141 Speedway fans Thursday night. Johnny Whitman took the lead following a lap 10 restart and led Mike Mullen around the oval at Francis Creek the last 40 green flag, lightning fast times around the track in taking the $10,000 Clash at the Creek win. “I’ve been wanting to do this for 13 years,” he said from victory lane. “It’s crazy, the amount of competition that’s here. I didn’t know if my car was good enough to keep up with them but we got it done.” Pole starter Josh Long was a distant third as home state drivers ran 1-2-3. IMCA Modifieds chase $10,000 check at 141 Speedway’s Clash at the Creek

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. – A crown jewel event for IMCA Modifieds will see 141 Speedway present the winner of the 13th annual Clash at the Creek with a well-deserved check for $10,000. The Wednesday and Thursday, June 15-17 special brings drivers across the country to the famed Wisconsin speedplant, where they’ll chase the big payday and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth. The Clash pays a minimum of $750 to start and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods race for $1,000 to win both nights at Francis Creek. Winners of Stock Car features also become eligible to qualify for the B & B Chassis All-Star race. Markwardt masters Modifieds, Stolp, Kemkes also collect 141 Speedway wins

(May 1) – Randy Markwardt Jr. used his searching skills to find his way to the front and find victory lane at 141 Speedway, as 172 cars signed in for competition Saturday at 141 Speedway. Jeff Bodendorfer set sail early in the IMCA Modified feature and went on cruise control at the top of the 1/3-mile. Markwardt started in sixth and tried multiple grooves to make his way to the front of the field. Markwardt finally caught Bodendorfer on lap 11 and pulled away over the remaining laps. Rob Charapata made his way to second but never make a charge. Bodendorfer had a great run in third after leading the first half of the race. Aaron Stolp had a rough first week and was determined to get back on top. Stolp did just that in a dominating win in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (Aug. 20) – The win was great. His daughter’s reaction to finding the presentation check propped up against her bedroom door the next morning was even better. Kenny Richards started 13th, took the lead following back-to-back restarts just past midway and then outran a field of Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod heavy hitters in taking the $5,000 Captain of the Creek checkers Thursday at 141 Speedway. The big win came in a Jack Jones Dump Bar and Grill ride Richards hadn’t seen before qualifying started the night before. Jones and brother Jerry, the Two Old Guys Race Team, adjusted the pedals and steering wheel and Richards took it from there. “I had my fingers crossed we would even make it in. Then I hoped for a top 10. LaCrosse rules King of the Creek at 141

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (July 23) – With the green flag laps clicking off, the opportunity Benji LaCrosse has been waiting for finally came on the 36th time around the track Thursday at 141 Speedway. LaCrosse caught race-long leader Nick Strobbe and then led to the finish of the $5,000 to win King of the Creek main event for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. “It was awesome. I didn’t think I’d catch the 42 car (Strobbe) for a while,” LaCrosse said following the caution-free, 50-lapper and a quick dip in the infield pond at Francis Creek. “I knew I had to get him on the top. His car was really good on the bottom.” Strobbe, 13th in the event as a rookie last season, started from the pole and led Shawn Wagner across the stripe the first two laps. King of the Creek Stock Car checkers are good for $5,000

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. – IMCA Sunoco Stock Car drivers will battle for King of the Creek honors and a rich $5,000 payday at 141 Speedway July 22 and 23. Qualifying starts Wednesday night, with a $750 to win feature for IMCA Modifieds and $200 to win Mach-1 Sport Compact feature completing the program. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults and $13 for seniors and students. Thursday’s show also sports last-chance qualifying for the Stocks and a $500 to win feature for the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods. Spectator admission is $20 for adults and $14 for seniors and students. Kids ages 10 and under get in free to the grandstand and pit passes are $30 each night. Thornton does it all in third straight IMCA Clash at the Creek win

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (June 18) – Ricky Thornton Jr. proved he can do it all again Thursday night, winning a third straight Clash at the Creek for IMCA Modifieds at 141 Speedway. Thornton banked another $10,000 after making the seven-hour trip from home solo, then outrunning Terry Phillips and Mike Mullen in a fast-paced 50 lap main event. “It’s pretty awesome. There were a lot of good cars here,” said Thornton, who worked lapped traffic as Phillips and Mullen narrowed the gap in the final circuits. “This is a crown jewel for IMCA and it always means a lot to win it.” Phillips was runner-up for a second straight Clash.
