IMCA Modified, Late Model, Sprint drivers all chase awards from Diversified Machine Inc.

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified driver racking up the most 40-point feature wins this season will also be the big winner in Diversified Machine Inc.’s contingency award program. The second-year IMCA marketing partner gives a Bulldog CT-1 quick change rear end to the top driver in Modified wins in 2016. Ricky Thornton Jr. collected 31 checkers to win the rear end last year. TONOPAH, Nev. – Both a $1,000 prize and berth of the ballot for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational are on the line in Tonopah Speedway’s Saturday, May 28 Jim Butler Day special main event for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds. URSS Rebels ready for Colorado/Kansas tripleheader weekend

BYERS, Colo. – The 2016 United Rebel Sprint Series returns to Colorado Motorsports Park Saturday night. The 3/8-mile oval hosted several events last season and will host the second of eight races in 2016. The Colorado region is thick with talent, both young guns and seasoned veterans and looks to be ultra-competitive again this season. In the last visit to the CMSP oval, 18 racers made the trek with Zac Taylor scoring his first victory of the 2016 URSS/IMCA EMI RaceSaver Series Colorado Region. Mark Walinder, Jed Werner, Adam Trimble and Austin McLean rounded out the top five. Drivers from Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma are also expected to make the trip to Colorado for an action-packed night. Deery Series has Memorial Day date at Boone Speedway

BOONE, Iowa (May 24) – Boone Speedway rolls out the red carpet on Memorial Day for the traditional holiday visit by the Deery Brothers Summer Series. The Monday, May 30 show marks the 45th appearance at Boone by the IMCA Late Model tour. This will be the 14th event to be held there on Memorial Day. No claim cards to be issued after May 31

VINTON, Iowa – Claim cards will not be issued to IMCA drivers in six divisions purchasing 2016 competitor’s licenses after Tuesday, May 31. The exception will be for any Modified, Stock Car, Hobby Stock, SportMod or Sport Compact drivers who accepts a claim made at a sanctioned event on or after June 1. “I recommend drivers who have not already done so purchase a new license immediately,” said IMCA President Brett Root. “That will ensure they receive the full benefits of IMCA membership, including their claim card and eligibility to make any claim.” Licenses can be purchased by calling the IMCA home office at 319 472-2201.

Cornell dominates in IMCA Atomicwraps.com Empire State Series win

DUNDEE, N.Y. (May 20) – James Cornell took the lead just before midway and cruised to the checkers in winning Friday’s Atomicwraps.com Empire State Series feature at Outlaw Speedway. The Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified tour victory paid $500 and was the career fourth for Cornell, the 2014 series champion. The 25-lap feature event saw a caution fly on the initial start of the race but that was the only yellow of the night. Cornell was dominant late in the race, extending his lead to more than a straightaway in lapped traffic. Jackson tops Raceway Park Sport Compacts

By Bob Coney JEFFERSON, Iowa (May 22) – Tacky track conditions led to a fast night of action Sunday night at Raceway Park. The first of five IMCA divisions hit the track when the KISS 107 FM Sport Compact division headed out. Only one caution slowed the race at six laps to go with Luke Jackson holding onto the lead he took at the drop of the green flag. In the final dash to the checkered flag, it was Jackson taking the win followed by point leader Ramsey Meyer. The Car Quest IMCA Hobby Stocks ran clean for the first six laps of the feature until the first yellow of the evening brought the field together with pole sitter Mike Hanson leading Andy Hoffman, Craig Clift, Ron Jensen, and Dave Riley.
