Donor Network/Urbana 5 Night is Sunday at Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa – Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods race for $1,500 to win and IMCA Modifieds for $1,000 to win at the Sunday, June 11 Iowa Donor Network and Urbana 5 Memorial Night at Benton County Speedway. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars race for $500 to win and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $400. IMCA Late Models complete the sanctioned portion of the program. All applicable points, including track, will be awarded in all divisions and the Modified feature is a qualifying event for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Davenport’s SportMod Challenge pays $2,000 to win

DAVENPORT, Iowa – Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods take over the spotlight in a $2,000 to win main event on Friday, June 9 at Davenport Speedway. The IMCA SportMod Challenge will use a draw/redraw format and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded. Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:15 p.m. with racing to follow. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and students, and free for kids ages 12 and under. Pit passes are $30. Kay scores big at Farley

By Jerry Mackey FARLEY, Iowa (June 2) – Friday night’s racing at Farley Speedway was highlighted by a 40-lap Ideal Ready Mix Tri-Track feature for the Out Pace Racing Products IMCA Late Models. When the checkered flag flew following the 16-minute main event, which ran caution-free, it was Justin Kay capturing the $2,000 payday. Kay led the 40 lapper flag-to-flag despite very heavy late race pressure by Andy Eckrich and Ryan Dolan. The frontrunners encountered lapped traffic as the race wound down and as the front three raced under the flagstand with three laps to go they were separated by less than a car length. Kay was able to clear lapped traffic and score the win over Eckrich and Dolan. Matt Gansen turned around some early season misfortunes and raced to the 20-lap feature win in the GSI Collision Specialists IMCA Modified feature. Gansen took the win over Jeff Aikey. Schmuhl is outstanding in Oshkosh Stocks

OSHKOSH, Wis. (June 2) – Jeff Schmuhl, in his second full night in the Outlaw Chassis IMCA Stock Car division, started the main event from outside pole and led every lap to record his first career feature win Friday at Oshkosh SpeedZone Raceway. A late race caution with two laps left bunched the field but Schmuhl held off defending champion, Travis Van Straten, David Hoerning, Jeremy Christians, Aaron Stolp and Joe White to seal the deal. Other winners of scheduled features were Tony Wedelstadt in the Automotive Supply Co. IMCA Modifieds, Lucas Lamberies in the Don Herman Auto Repair IMCA Northern SportMods and Chris Maas, who topped the Lynn’s Service Center IMCA Sport Compact main with a last-lap pass. Winning make-up features were Eric Scribner in a caution-free Modified contest and Kevin Bethke in the Northern SportMods. The event had 120 cars entered for the evening.

Duffy drives to first Marshalltown win of season

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (June 2) – Darin Duffy made his first visit of the season to Marshalltown Speedway on Friday and was rewarded with the IMCA Modified feature win. Jimmy Gustin saw his nice lead disappear when a yellow flew at lap seven. By this time, Duffy had made it to second after starting 11th and Joel Rust, who had started even deeper in the field, was closing in on the frontrunners. The three top cars duked it out, swapping positions until Duffy finally established the top spot for good, and sealed the win. Rust took the runner-up spot and Gustin was third. Another driver getting his first win at Marshalltown after trying for five years was Johnathon Logue Jr. in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod division. First wins for four Friday at Luxemburg

By Scott Owen LUXEMBURG, Wis. (June 2) – A robust field of 121 cars signed in the battle it out Friday at Luxemburg Speedway. Lance Arneson, John Heinz, Dennis Miesler and Alvin Testroete all got their first local IMCA wins of the season. The IMCA Modified feature started with Jeff Bodendorfer leading the first five laps. Arneson got underneath Bodendorfer to take the lead on lap six. During the second half of the race Russ Reinwald got to second but could never mount a serious charge as Arneson went to victory lane. In IMCA Sunoco Stock Car action, Heinz proved to too tough to catch as he led every lap en route to victory. Kyle Frederick worked his way from 13th to challenge late in the race but to no avail. Ryan squeezes out IMCA Late Model win at Davenport

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (June 2) – Matt Ryan made some quick maneuvers in lapped traffic to capture the Petersen Plumbing and Heating IMCA Late Model feature Friday at Davenport Speedway. Ryan had taken the lead from Andy Nezworski after a lap six restart. Brunson Behning slowly reeled in the leader and the lead duo was side-by-side on lap 24 with two slower cars in front of them. Ryan squeezed between the infield tires and Jay Chenoweth to retain the lead and score his first points win of the season at Davenport. Behning finished second with Nezworski holding on to third. The Eriksen Chevrolet IMCA Modifieds provided another thrilling main event. Jordan Hicks jumped out to the early race lead and led the first three laps. Pole sitter Clay Money took the lead early in the IMCA Modified main. Tad Reutzel and Tim Ward both came calling on Money for the lead at halfway but two laps later, Reutzel exited with car troubles and Kelly Shryock joined the battle for the lead. Shyrock gradually reeled in Money and took the lead with two laps to go before going onto the victory. Tenth starting Curt Lund weaved his way through the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car field and finally grabbed the top spot with two laps to go and went on to the win. Anderson stays perfect at Osky

By Jeremy Fox OSKALOOSA, Iowa (May 31) – Shannon Anderson remained perfect by picking up the KBOE Radio/Mahaska Bottling IMCA Hobby Stock feature during a fast-paced night of racing Wednesday at Southern Iowa Speedway. Anderson started eighth and quickly worked his way through the field, getting to the front on lap six. He built up a big lead that was erased by a lap 11 caution, but held on to get the victory ahead of Aaron Martin, Chanse Hollatz, Bill Bonnett and Thomas Stevens. Tiger doubles awards for IMCA drivers in 2017

MOUNT ULLA, N.C. – Tiger Rear Ends doubles the dollar amount of awards to be given to IMCA drivers this season, with $5,000 in product certificates designated for Modified and Late Model competitors. Top five finishers in national standings for both divisions, and in point standings for the Deery Brothers Summer Series for Late Models and the Arnold Motor Supply Hawkeye Dirt Tour for Modifieds all receive $250 certificates from the Mount Ulla, N.C., aftermarket rear end manufacturer. Tiger had given national Late Model and Deery awards in its first three years as an IMCA sponsor. Certificates will be presented during the national IMCA awards banquet in November or mailed beginning the following week from the home office, and can be redeemed directly through Tiger.
