Shrader Doubles Down in SportMod Thriller at Antioch

By Candice Martin ANTIOCH, Calif. (July 19, 2025) – Kenny Shrader of Pacheco captured his third Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod main event win of the season at Antioch Speedway, keeping the points battle tight in the 20-lap contest. The two-time reigning track champion and current point leader fended off consistent pressure from nearest rival Jason Ryan Jr. to take the victory. It was the first race at the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds 3/8-mile oval since June 28th. Joseph Pato paced the early laps after scoring a heat race win. Rookie Alfred Johnson and veteran Al Johnson pursued him until a yellow flag reset the field on lap six. Shrader made a powerful move into second and overtook Pato with a clean inside pass in turn four on lap nine. After another caution on lap 12, Shrader took off on the restart and opened a straightaway lead over Ryan Jr. at the finish. Pato rounded out the podium in third. Probst Prevails in Hobby Stock Thriller at Arlington

By Susan Allen ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 19, 2025) — A first lap yellow flag during the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature didn’t set the pace very well for the night. Dan Scharpe had troubles when his rear end locked up, sending him to the pit area for the night. Taylor Manderfield led the first four laps of the race before another yellow flew after contact between Ben Davis and Chad Volk. Both drivers were able to resume, but Davis restarted at the tail. That gave Cory Probst the opportunity he needed to get around both Manderfield and Blake Luinenburg to take the lead. Yet another yellow came out when R.J. Esquada’s hood blew off while running second, forcing him to retire. The restart opened the door for Luinenburg to challenge for the lead, but he and Probst battled to the finish with Probst coming out on top. Luinenburg was second and Volk raced his way back to third. Probst now owns 22 wins in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region, five of which have come at [Read More]

Dodson Powerful in Port Royal Win

By Frank Buhrman PORT ROYAL, Pa. (July 19, 2025) — Doug Dodson’s starting position – outside of the second row – presented an opportunity the veteran racer from Middletown wasn’t going to pass up. On the initial start of Saturday’s 20-lap River Valley Builders Pennsylvania Sprint Series feature at Port Royal Speedway, Dodson quickly moved into second place and was challenging early leader Mike Melair when the caution flew on lap three for Croix Beasom, who flipped at the fourth turn end of the frontstretch. Melair fired off strong on the restart, but Dodson wasted no time getting back to work. Just two laps later, he executed a clean slide job in turns one and two to take the lead—a position he never gave back. Dodson, smooth in traffic over the final four laps, cruised to the checkered flag for his 11th career PASS win, crossing 1.705 seconds ahead of last week’s Port Royal winner Josh Spicer. Spicer stormed from seventh to second, passing Melair on the final circuit. Melair, piloting the Rod Ort-owned entry, settled [Read More]

Meidinger Scores First Career Stock Car Win at Dacotah

By Becca Pelkey MANDAN, N.D. (July 18, 2025) – When the green flag waved in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature at Dacotah Speedway, Shawn Strand charged to the lead entering the first corner. An early caution regrouped the field, and on the ensuing restart, Matt Dosch drove past Todd Carter for second. Dosch then set his sights on Strand, and the two raced door-to-door for the top spot. Meanwhile, Jason Meidinger was on the move from the 13th starting position. With just four laps to go, Meidinger powered by Dosch for second and went to work on the leader. He dove low under Strand and the two veterans ran side-by-side in the closing laps. Meidinger held the advantage in turns one and two, while Strand maintained momentum through three and four. Richards Rallies From 17th to Victory in Wild Eagle Stock Car Feature

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (July 19, 2025) — It took three tries to get the feature going for the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars at Eagle Raceway, and when it finally did, it turned into one of the most thrilling races of the night. A massive seven-car pileup in turn four on the original start and a second pileup on the restart shook up the field early. Once the action finally found rhythm, Travis Patterson took command with Dana Deeke and Tim Drake following. But the driver to watch was Mason Richards, who charged from his 17th starting spot like a man on a mission. Richards steadily reeled in the leaders and took control with six circuits to go, overcoming an early 1.4-second gap to Patterson. Chad Andersen mounted a late rally of his own, swapping spots with Deeke as the two battled hard for third. At the line, Richards secured his sixth EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season and third Stock Car win at Eagle in 2025. Patterson and Andersen were second [Read More]

By Joe Orsini SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 18, 2025) — The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event at Outagamie Speedway kicked off with Russ Reinwald jumping to the early lead, looking poised to cruise to a win. But smooth sailing wasn’t in the cards for Reinwald, as Suamico’s Johnny “The Hitman” Whitman charged from sixth to second by lap three, setting up a showdown between two seasoned veterans. A lap five caution bunched the field, and the second half of the race turned into a thrilling display of contrasting lines—Reinwald up top, Whitman glued to the tires down low. In the end, Reinwald held strong and fended off Whitman for his first victory of the season at Outagamie and in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Cody Schroeder rounded out the podium in third. Ryan Cashes In Late to Win Wild Late Model Main at Davenport

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (July 18, 2025) – Friday night at Davenport Speedway belonged to the first-timers — at least for 2025. Three feature winners parked in victory lane for the first time this season on the banks of the Mississippi, led by Matt Ryan in the Sunoco IMCA Late Models. The headline event looked more like a game of musical chairs than a race to the checkers. Jesse Bodin paced the opening circuit before Joe Beal charged to the front and appeared strong, only to pull off after five laps. Bodin resumed the lead for a short stint, but was soon overtaken by Bryce Garnhart, who took control until mechanical issues ended his bid on lap 15. Bodin again inherited the top spot, but Matt Ryan had worked his way into the mix and made his move on lap 22. The Dubuque driver led the final four circuits to claim his first Late Model win of the season at the ¼-mile oval, and 25th career victory at Davenport. The win was also Ryan’s second [Read More]
