2nd Annual Joey Kay Memorial Race Weekend Returns June 12-13 to Bridgeport Speedway

SWEDEBORO, N.J. (May 27, 2026) — The 2nd Annual Joey Kay Memorial Race Weekend presented by Tanner Brothers Dairy Store and Tru-Scapes Outdoor Lighting is set to bring two nights of action-packed racing and remembrance to Bridgeport Speedway on June 12-13.

The weekend honors the memory of Joey Kay while celebrating the racing community he loved so deeply, featuring the DCB’s Plumbing and Heating Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series presented by Capitol Renegade.

Friday night’s opener will feature a loaded program headlined by a $812-to-win, $160-to-start feature event, along with contingency bonuses and additional purse money throughout the night. Fans and teams are also encouraged to stick around following the racing program for the Scarlet Oaks Wholesale Nursery Tire Change Challenge behind the grandstands, where crews will compete for a $500 cash prize by changing a right rear and right front tire in the fastest time.

The weekend then shifts into high gear on Saturday, June 13, with “The Big Show,” paying $4,012 to win and $512 to start the feature. The evening will also include contingency cash bonuses, product giveaways, and the Scarlet Oaks Wholesale Nursery Match Races featuring a total of $1,000 up for grabs.

Fans will have an opportunity to meet the drivers during a pre-race autograph session.

Saturday night will also feature the special “Red Out” at Bridgeport Speedway, where fans are encouraged to wear red in honor of Joey Kay’s signature racing color. Organizers hope to turn the facility into a sea of red as racers, teams, and fans come together to celebrate Joey’s memory in a meaningful way.

Rookie schools IMCA RaceSaver foes at Bloomsburg

(July 25) – Rookie Zack Bealer found a way around Bloomsburg Fair Raceway that nobody else could match and scored his first win in a full-sized sprint car in Sunday’s IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature co-sanctioned by the Pennsylvania Sprint Series and the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series. The former micro-sprint driver, running regularly with MASS, already had amassed two top-five finishes and four top-10’s in just six starts, including a seventh at Bridgeport Speedway in his first RaceSaver start, the season-opening co-sanctioned event for both groups. Iulg Stellar in MASS Opener at Bridgeport

(Apr. 11, 2026) — Tim Iulg of Bridgeton, New Jersey, opened the 10th anniversary season of the DCB Plumbing & Heating Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series presented by Capitol Renegade on a winning note by capturing the 25-lap A-Main on Saturday night at Bridgeport Speedway. Iulg withstood a late-race restart with just two laps remaining to defeat defending MASS champion Troy Betts by 0.568 seconds. Iulg and series rookie Tyler Grau brought the 20-car field to the start, with Iulg jumping out in front to pace the field. Eddie Wagner wasted no time getting by Grau and quickly took up the chase. While Iulg slowly expanded his lead, several battles were being waged behind the duo, including Troy Betts pressuring Grau for third. Betts finally bested Grau for the spot exiting turn two and set his sights on Wagner. Sweigart wins on last-lap pass at BAPS

By Frank Buhrman YORK HAVEN, Pa. (Aug. 3) – Nic Sweigart passed Zach Newlin on the final lap to claim the victory in Saturday’s 20-lap IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature at BAPS Motor Speedway. It was Sweigart’s second win of the season and the second of his career at York Haven. The race was co-sanctioned by the Pennsylvania Sprint Series and the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series. A five-time winner at BAPS over the last two seasons, Newlin set sail and built a lead of nearly three seconds before a lap seven caution. Sweigart moved through the field from his ninth starting position. On lap 12, he passed Eddie Wagner for the runner-up spot and set his sights on Newlin, charging around high against the outside wall. The momentum from that high run enabled him to catch the leader in the first set of turns and slip past on the backstretch. Herrera Sweeps Sweetwater’s May Mayhem Weekend in SportMods

ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. (May 23, 2026) — The Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods produced some of the best racing of Sweetwater Speedway’s Memorial Day weekend ‘May Mayhem’ opener presented by Pitt Stop Motorsports as Payce Herrera swept both feature events against stacked fields on the 3/8-mile Sweetwater Events Complex oval. Friday’s 25-lap opener featured a packed 27-car field and ended with one of the weekend’s most thrilling finishes. Herrera, from Price, Utah, charged from eighth and used lapped traffic to his advantage before making a last-lap, last-corner pass on Josh Pate to steal the victory. The triumph was Herrera’s sixth win of the season at his third different track of 2026. Pate settled for second while David Pitt completed the podium. J.D. James Conquers Wild West Coast Modified Clash Finale at Grays Harbor

(May 24, 2026) — Bricen James made a late Saturday night decision to tow north to Grays Harbor Raceway pay off in a big way, capturing the 7th annual West Coast Modified Clash finale and the $2,500 top prize in Sunday’s Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature. After one of the wildest B Main finishes of the weekend, 24 Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds rolled onto the 3/8-mile clay oval for the Memorial Day weekend finale. The initial start was called back after an incident deeper in the field. On the second attempt, Saturday winner and polesitter Grey Ferrando tangled with Collen Winebarger entering turn one, sending Ferrando spinning and forcing him to restart at the rear of the field.
