Munoz, Elliott land Longdale wins

LONGDALE, Okla. (May 20) – Angel Munoz outlasted seventh-starting Jason Rogers to capture the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event Saturday at Longdale Speedway. Kyle Pfeifer placed third, Travis Baird fourth and Hesston Shaw fifth. Robert Elliott garnered the IMCA SportMod feature win while Joe Adams advanced from eighth starting to second. Mike Roach raced from ninth to third. Jeffrey Kaup scored a fourth-place finish and Kaleb Roach was fifth. Both IMCA features were 35-lappers.

Aurand leads Laurel Highlands Sprints to Hesston checkers

HESSTON, Pa. (May 20) – Ron Aurand was the Saturday night winner when the Laurel Highlands Sprint Series ventured to Hesston Speedway. Runner-up in the 20-lapper for IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars was Nathan Gramley and Drew Ritchey was third. Aurand and Reed Thompson drew front row starts and Aurand set the fast pace with Thompson close behind. Within a few laps, Scott Lutz moved into second with Gramley, Ritchey and Steve Kenawell Jr. settling in behind him. Gramley had taken over second before the only caution of the race came on lap 16. When the green came out again, Aurand took off and took the win with Gramley, Ritchey, Lutz and Kenawell in tow. Cardinal’s Sheen Memorial moves to Memorial Day Weekend

EUNICE, N.M. – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars get top billing at Cardinal Speedway’s Kelly Sheen Memorial Shootout, which moves to the Memorial Day Weekend for its eighth annual run. Qualifying starts on Saturday, May 27 at the Eunice, N.M., speedplant. Twenty-five lap main events on Sunday, May 28 sport top checks of $2,000 for the Stocks, $1,200 for the IMCA Modifieds, $800 for the Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods and $500 for the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. IMCA Modified Madness 50 take two is Friday at Davenport

DAVENPORT, Iowa – Due to last week’s rainout, Davenport Speedway has rescheduled the IMCA Modified Madness 50 for this Friday, May 26. Top IMCA Modified drivers from Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin, will be racing for the $2,000 prize and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth that awaits the winner of the main event. This is the seventh straight year DRT TRAK Racing Inc. has offered a $2,000 to win race for the Modifieds. The IMCA Modified Madness 50 has yet to see a repeat winner. CENTER LISLE, N.Y. (May 24) – Touring IMCA Modifieds race for $750 to win when the 16th annual Empire State Series opens Saturday night at Thunder Mountain Speedway. ELM MOTT, Texas – One of the top-paying IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock events of the season is on tap for Sunday, May 28, when Heart O’ Texas Speedway hosts its Texas Shootout special. Brown wins IMCA RaceSaver Sprint showdown at Susquehanna

By Erika Palmai Wagner YORK HAVEN, Pa. (May 20) – Dave Brown took the checkered flag Saturday at Susquehanna Speedway, for the ninth time in his Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series career. Tyler Reeser, Cale Reigle, Darren Miller and Kyle Ganoe completed the top five in the first IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car event co-sanctioned this season by MASS and the Pennsylvania Sprint Series. Reigle took control from the start and led the first 11 of 20 circuits. Brown started fourth and advanced quickly, using the very top of the race track.
