Arnold Motor Supply Hawkeye Dirt Tour opens on Memorial Day at Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa – The home track of the IMCA Modified division hosts opening night for the Arnold Motor Supply Hawkeye Dirt Tour. IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win and a minimum of $150 to start their Monday, May 29 main event at Benton County Speedway. The Memorial Day program is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier and marks the sixth time in the tour’s eight-year history that the opening night show was held in Vinton, site of the first-ever IMCA Modified event in 1979. New tour title sponsor Arnold Motor Supply provides a portion of $5,650 point funds to be paid each of the next three seasons. Noll, Baca battle at Canyon

(May 20) – In one of the most fiercest battles of the year in the IMCA Modified division Jason Noll and Chaz Baca Jr. fought tooth and nail for 10 laps before Noll took the win by a small margin Saturday at Canyon Speedway Park. K.C. Dieckman had taken the early lead with Terry Belcher Sr. and Ryan Roath in tow and Baca and Noll patiently working their way toward the front. Dieckman started slipping back and an epic battle between Noll and Baca ensued as they continued their march through the field. The duo exchanged the lead several times and ran side-by-side with no contact, with Noll finally taking the win over Baca, Belcher, Roath and Kelsie Foley, who worked her way by Brian Schultz at the line. After breaking a gear in the heat race, George Fronsman captured the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature, with Joe Vlasity holding off his challengers in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks.

Dodge City title chases continue on Sunday, free admission for military personnel

As such, it is only fitting that championship chase action at Dodge City Raceway Park continues with a special Sunday night, May 28 card this week. And to honor those who protect our nation, Sunday’s second Lewis Automotive Night of the season that goes green at 7:30 p.m. will offer free admission to military personnel and their dependents. URSS Rebels ready for RPM, 81 doubleheader  

HAYS, Kan. – The United Rebel Sprint Series will hit the ground running with a double header weekend at one of the driver’s favorite tracks and a trip to one of the region’s most storied tracks. All eyes will be on the Rebels as the point season begins with trips to two lightning fast 3/8’s-mile ovals. WEST FARGO, N.D. – IMCA Modifieds race for $700 to win both nights of Red River Valley Speedway’s Thursday and Friday May 25-26 Dakota Cat 100 special. Christianson parks in Dacotah Speedway’s victory lane

MANDAN, N.D. (May 19) – Drew Christianson made his move in the last set of turns, then parked his IMCA Modified in victory lane at Dacotah Speedway Friday night. The win at Mandan was his first since 2010. Veteran Herb Bargmann grabbed the early lead; Travis Ulmer started to catch up as Myles Tomlinson lurked in third. That three-car battle for the lead, allowed Christianson to close in. Tomlinson and Christianson split Ulmer as Bargmann got off the backstretch. Christianson shuffled into the lead, bringing Tomlinson with him. Using lapped traffic as a pick, Tomlinson grabbed the lead as the white flag waved. MAPLE PARK, Ill. – An Illinois speedplant celebrating its 54th season welcomes IMCA Modifieds for a $2,000 to win main event during the Memorial Weekend. Bruce is best again at Outlaw

By Paul Szmal DUNDEE, N.Y. (May 19) – Shawn Bruce won for the second time this season, in the Farmers Insurance/Marion Decker Agency IMCA Modified feature Friday at Outlaw Speedway. Brad Smith and Scott Sebring brought the field to the green for its 20-lap feature and Sebring grabbed the lead as Jake Karlnoski moved into second spot. Smith spun a lap later and on the restart Sebring maintained the lead as Glenn Whritenour and Bruce battled for third. Trouble struck on lap six and Bruce inherited second spot. He fought Sebring for the lead until Sebring slid high in turn four on lap 10, giving Bruce the top spot. Bruce pulled away from Rich Karlnoski at the finish to take his second IMCA Modified feature of the season, with Sebring third.
