
Lower line leads Shouse to sprint win at Longdale

(Aug. 26) – Andy Shouse found the bottom of the track was the place to be just past the midway point of Saturday’s IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature at Longdale Speedway. As a result, the defending champion motored to the checkers in the Sprint Series of Oklahoma event co-sanctioned with the United Rebel Sprint Series. Zach Blurton had begun putting slower cars down on lap nine and continued with a comfortable lead. The first caution of the feature fell on lap 14. While pacing under caution, Shouse worked the bottom and found it to his liking. On the restart, he quickly disposed of Taylor Velasquez for the runner-up position. Shouse kept working the low side around the big 3/8-mile oval and made his move to the front on lap 18, throttling away down the backstretch and quickly opening a half stretch lead over Blurton.
