Wild West IMCA Modified Shootout opens at Siskiyou

YREKA, Calif. – For the second straight occasion in the history of the Wild West Shootout, Siski­you Motor Speedway will kick things off for the IMCA Modified Tour.

Hosting the same honor in 2017, the Northern California ¼-mile oval will shred the clay on Friday, June 22 and is expected to have high car counts along with great racing.

All eight Wild West Shootout features pay $1,000 to win, a minimum of $100 to start and are 2018 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying events. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Race Cars Western Region and IMCA State points will be awarded each night. Tow money is $50.

Oregon tour dates are Saturday, June 23 at Southern Oregon Speedway in White City; Sunday, June 24 at Coos Bay Speedway; Monday and Tuesday, June 25 and 26 at Cottage Grove Speed­way; Wednesday, June 27 at Sunset Speedway Park in Banks; and Friday and Saturday, June 29 and 30 at Willamette Speedway in Lebanon.

The driver appreciation party on travel day Thursday, June 28 is presented by FinishLine Graphics.

Front gates at Yreka open at 5 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. Grandstand tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and military, $8 for kids ages 6-12 and free for five and under.

Southern Oregon also opens the front gates at 5 p.m. and starts racing at 7 p.m.  Spectator admis­sion is $15 for adults, $10 for veterans and kids ages 6-12 and free for five and under.

Coos Bay opens the pit gates at 10 a.m. and the front gates at noon. Racing gets underway at 2 p.m.  Grandstand tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, military and students ages 7-17, and free for kids six and under.

Spectator admission is $10 a carload both nights at Cottage Grove. Pit gates open at 2 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. and racing is at 6:30 p.m.

Sunset Speedway Park opens the pits at 2 p.m. and the grandstand at 4 p.m. Time trials are at 5:30 p.m. and racing starts at 6:30 p.m.  Admission is $13 for adults and $10 for seniors, military and students ages 13-17. A family pass (two adults and up to four youth) is $35 and premium seats run $25 each.

Pit gates open at 1 p.m., the front gate opens at 3:30 p.m. and racing is at 6 p.m. both days at Willamette. Spectator admission is $14 for adults, $10 for seniors, military and juniors, $5 for kids ages 6-12 and free for five and under. A family pass (two adults and up to four youth) is $35.

Four-time and defending champion Jesse Williamson leads all drivers with 10 career tour victo­ries.
