Gillmore gets first IMCA Modified win at Springfield

By Ronnie Williams SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Hometown driver Ryan Gillmore charged early from his sixth starting spot and drove with ease to his first-ever Bad Boys Mowers IMCA Modified win Saturday before the capacity crowd at The Quick Quarter Springfield Raceway. Gillmore, driving the Andrew Smith car that won on opening night, had made several changes to the car during the week after a seventh place finish last week. The youngster wasted no time in working through traffic early in the 20-lap feature and then kicked it in gear to capture the win in a strong run. “Last week was the first time since early in the season that we ran the car and we finished second that night. Dan Shepherd Memorial Stock Car Shootout set at Canyon

PEORIA, Ariz. – IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars both race for $1,000 to win on night two of Canyon Speedway Park’s inaugural Dan Shepherd Memorial. The Sunday, Sept. 1 Modified main is a qualifying event for the 2020 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational and pays a minimum of $100 to start. The 77-lap Stock Car feature pays a minimum of $75 to start. Also on Sunday, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks race for $500 to win, Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $250. WEST LIBERTY, Iowa – The points race going into the night is every bit as close as the racing will be when the Deery Brothers Summer Series travels to West Liberty Raceway this weekend. The Saturday, Aug. 24 IMCA Late Model tour feature pays $2,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. IMCA national champions, top rookies earn awards from 10-year sponsor RH2

RIVERSIDE, N.J. – RH2 marks a decade of IMCA sponsorship this season, continuing an awards program benefitting top drivers in all eight sanctioned divisions. Super Nationals deadline for early registration now Aug. 29

BOONE, Iowa – Drivers planning to compete at the 37th annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s have an additional six days to do so at the current pre-registration rates.
