Richardson is best in URSS opener at Bullring Nationals

LaCROSSE, Kan. (July 25) – The POWRi United Rebel Sprint Series Presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing took to the Bullring at Rush County Speedway and Steven Richardson maneuvered a last lap pass to claim the night one Bullring Nationals feature win. Zach Blurton and Jordan Knight set the pace for the 25-lap feature event for the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars. Blurton took off with the early lead. Koby Walters and Jordan Knight fell in behind the race leader. Blurton finessed lapped traffic on lap seven, separating some distance between himself and the runner-up. A late race caution saw the field bunched back up. Some confusion on the restart called for mass chaos for front-runners Blurton and Walters. Logue is perfect Saturday at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (July 25) – Johnathon Logue made it a perfect night Saturday, following his Hawkeye Challenge victory with the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod checkers at Boone Speedway. Logue had topped the Hawkeye Challenge, which featured cars from each weekly division running a specified number (20-25) number of laps. With that $1,000 win already in hand, Logue drove from the 11th starting spot to catch leader Hunter Longnecker in the Northern SportMod main. The two ran side-by-side for several laps until Logue made the pass for the lead on lap 11. He kept the top spot the remainder of the way to the checkers and the win, his third at Boone this season. Longnecker kept the runner-up spot and Dustin Lynch was third. Tim Ward collected his first local IMCA Modified feature win of the season while Jay Schmidt prevailed in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature for the second time. Mike Smith also raced to his second Boone Speedway checkers of 2020 in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock main.

Carolina Racing Supply awards sent to Modified rookies in IMCA Eastern region

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Two dozen IMCA Modified rookies competing in the Dirt Works Eastern Region have received early career contingency awards from Carolina Racing Supply. The Mooresville, N.C., high performance parts retailer has already issued $50 product certificates, good toward online purchases of $100 or more, to drivers who completed the rookie application process. LaCrosse rules King of the Creek at 141

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (July 23) – With the green flag laps clicking off, the opportunity Benji LaCrosse has been waiting for finally came on the 36th time around the track Thursday at 141 Speedway. LaCrosse caught race-long leader Nick Strobbe and then led to the finish of the $5,000 to win King of the Creek main event for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. “It was awesome. I didn’t think I’d catch the 42 car (Strobbe) for a while,” LaCrosse said following the caution-free, 50-lapper and a quick dip in the infield pond at Francis Creek. “I knew I had to get him on the top. Braaksma goes back to back with BVR win on Speed Shift TV Dirt Knights Tour night 2

ALTA, Iowa (July 22) – After a convincing win on opening night, Ethan Braaksma dominated on night two of the Speed Shift TV Dirt Knights Tour for IMCA Modifieds Wednesday at Buena Vista Raceway. Braaksma made his charge from seventh starting, taking over the front spot as leader Matt Bonine slowed with mechanical issues and checked out on everybody, taking the checkers half a lap ahead of runner-up Cody Laney. Laney ran second the last nine times around the track but didn’t get the break he needed as the 25-lapper ran caution-free. Bull Ring Nationals doubleheader on tap for URSS at Rush County

LACROSSE, Kan. – The Mel Hambelton Ford Racing POWRi United Rebel Sprint Series will head to The Bullring of Rush County Speedway in LaCrosse, Kan., for the Bull Ring Nationals on Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26. The preparation and awesome racing provided by the Rush County Speedway crew is one of the favorites for United Rebel Sprint Series drivers and fans. Broken Arrow, Okla.’s Jake Martens was crowned the 2019 Bull Ring Nationals champion. The Bull Ring Nationals will pay $700 to the winner on Saturday night and $1,000 will be on the line for the top spot on Sunday. Otherwise, general admission is $12. $250 Sunoco bonus moves to Pepsi Lee County Speedway this Friday night

VINTON, Iowa – The payday gets even better this week for the IMCA Sunoco Late Model feature winner at Pepsi Lee County Speedway. As part of a regular points night of racing, the IMCA Late Model winner pockets an extra $250 courtesy of Sunoco Race Fuels. Sunoco bonuses are being presented at IMCA Late Model sanctioned weekly tracks this year. Drivers are eligible for only one bonus during the 2020 racing season. If the feature winner is a previous Sunoco winner, the bonus moves to the next eligible position. 2020 winners have been Jeff Aikey at Independence Motor Speedway, Matt Ryan at 34 Raceway, Joel Callahan at Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway, Eric Pollard at 300 Raceway, Justin Kay at Davenport Speedway and Dalton Simonsen at Marshalltown Speedway. Last weekend Ben Sukup, Cory Dumpert and Jim Johnson claimed the bonus money with wins at US 30 Speedway, Boone County Raceway and Off Road Speedway respectively.
