Championship Night this Friday at US 36 Raceway

OSBORN, Mo. – This Friday, Sept. 25, is championship night at US 36 Raceway. US 36 will crown the season champion in IMCA Modifieds, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. As part of championship night, the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars will race for $1,200 to win and a minimum of $250 to start. This is also the final opportunity for drivers and teams to race before the fall special at US 36, the second annual Missouri Nationals on Oct. 8-10. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. The grandstands open at 6 p.m. with hot laps at 7:30 p.m. and racing at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 for general admission, $18 for senior and military and children 12 and younger are free. Pit passes are $35.

Harris brings broom, sweeps Virginia Sprint Series twinbill

(Sept. 19) – On the first clear, cool night of the year, Jerald Harris had a hot night on track by topping both features for the Virginia Sprint Series at Natural Bridge Speed­way.  The make-up event for the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature rained out in August had Daren Bolac out first at the drop of the green and running smooth out front with Mike Leraas in tow.  The 20-lap feature was going by fast as the track surface was changing and Leraas was closing in with Mike Keeton and Harris catching up fast as well.  Leraas got by for the lead with the back of the field quickly coming into his path. IMCA Modified checkers fly at Arlington for Stinehart

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Sept. 19) – Todd Stinehart was the fourth and final leader in Saturday’s IMCA Modified feature at Arlington Raceway. Rick Nelson paced the first four laps before he was forced pitside. Trent Loverude took over the top spot and built a commanding lead while Stinehart and Clint Hatlestad were fighting for second. On lap 13, Loverude’s engine let loose and he exited the track giving the lead to Stinehart. Hat­lestad fought hard and took the lead on the 18th lap, then ran side-by-side with Stinehart the last two laps.  As they were coming out of turn four, Hatlestad was a nose ahead, but Stinehart edged past him right before the checkered flag. Third went to Toby Patchen.  Bill Johnson led from the sixth circuit to the finish of the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature and Chad Schroeder topped the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main. 28th annual Tiny Lund Memorial this weekend at Shelby County Speedway

HARLAN, Iowa – Shelby County Speedway rolls out the red carpet for six IMCA divisions at the 28th annual Tiny Lund Memorial Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25 and 26. Friday night action is in honor of the Dale Swanson Memorial and sees the IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Late Models racing for $755 to win, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods for $655 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $555 and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $155 to win.  On Saturday, the Modifieds race for $1,528 to win their Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier. Inaugural Corning Memorial this weekend at Cocopah

SOMERTON, Ariz. – One thousand dollar checks and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational berths go to IMCA Modified feature winners both nights of Cocopah Speedway’s inaugural Mike Corning Memorial Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25 and 26.  Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts race both nights at Somerton while IMCA Sunoco Late Models join the Saturday show.  IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, KMJ Performance State and track points will be awarded both nights. Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Racing starts at 7 p.m. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and military and free for kids ages 11 and under. All pit passes are $35.  Corning was champion of IMCA’s Western Region for Modifieds in 1996. 10th annual Pettit Shootout features IMCA Modifieds, Northern SportMods

WATSONVILLE, Calif. – IMCA Modifieds and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods are the featured divisions on both nights of Ocean Speedway’s 10th annual Pettit Shootout.  Modifieds race for $1,003 to win on Friday, Sept. 25 and for $3,006 to win on Saturday, Sept. 26, with the winner at each Watsonville show putting their name on the 2021 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Northern SportMods run for $503 to win on Friday and for $1,006 to win on Saturday.  IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and KMJ Performance State points will be awarded both nights. Modifieds also earn Shaw Race Cars Western Region points.  Pit gates open at noon both days. The drivers’ meeting is at 4:45 p.m. with hot laps to follow and racing at 6 p.m. Pit passes are $50. No grandstand seating will be sold and social distancing will be in effect; facial masks are required to enter the pit area. Junction Motor Speedway hosts Sept. 25-26 Nunnenkamp Memorial

McCOOL JUNCTION, Neb. – IMCA Sunoco Late Models chase $1,000 top checks on both nights of Junction Motor Speedway’s Sept. 25 and 26 Barb Nunnenkamp Memorial McCool 100.  IMCA Modified run for $775 to win both nights, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods for $675, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $525 and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $500. First place in Saturday’s Mach-1 Sport Compact main event pays $200. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and KMJ Performance State points will be awarded at the draw/redraw special. Sherman County Speedway ends season with 31st Flatlander Classic

GOODLAND, Kan. – Sherman County Speedway wraps up the 2020 season with the 31st annual Flatlander Classic on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25 and 26.  Both the IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $1,500 to win, with the Modified winner earning a spot on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot as well.  IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods chase $1,000 top checks while the Mach-1 Sport Compact feature pays $400 to win. 2020 IMCA point season ends Sunday, Sept. 27

VINTON, Iowa – The 2020 IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing point season ends this Sun­day, Sept. 27.  Final points races will be held that day for sanctioned Modifieds, Late Models, Sprint Cars, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks, Northern SportMods, Southern SportMods and Sport Com­pacts. Bonus points will be figured and national and regional champi­ons and rook­ies of the year announced as soon as possi­ble.  Local track officials have until noon Central Standard Time on Monday, Oct. 26 to notify IMCA of corrections that affect their top 15 point stand­ings before all standings for those divisions become official.
