Super Nationals-bound Herrera sets winning pace at Price

He brought home the $1,000 grand prize sponsored by the Desert Thunder Raceway Foundation. Torrential downpour and brief flooding postponed Saturday’s races but the crew at Desert Thunder worked tirelessly to keep everything running smoothly. The young Herrera was not deterred. Marathon man Ryland wins long race to checkers at Dwayne Melvin Clash

MEDFORD, Ore. (Aug. 20, 2022) – His off-track training regimen had Fred Ryland in shape for Saturday’s Dwayne Melvin Clash. Ryland started on the pole and led the distance in the 69-lap marathon for Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods at Southern Oregon Speedway. “Luckily I hike and run a little bit. That really helped a lot,” the Brentwood, Calif., speedster said following the career-topping $3,000 payday. “It was hot and we spent a lot of time in the car on Saturday. Ocean Speedway Pettit Shootout shows to feature IMCA Modifieds, Northern SportMods Sept. 23, 24

WATSONVILLE, Calif. (Aug. 26, 2022) – Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods are on the card for both nights of Ocean Speedway’s 12th annual Pettit Shootout. The West Coast’s premier shootout honors Pat and Jim Pettit Friday, Sept. 23 and Saturday, Sept. 24. Modifieds race for $1,003 to win and a minimum of $103 to start, Northern SportMods for $553 to win and a minimum of $103 to start on opening night. Cayden Carter and Andy Eckrich earned the most passing points in their heat races to lead the field to green in the B & B Propane IMCA Modified Photo Daddy 50-lap feature. Carter grabbed the lead over Austen Becerra and Eckrich. Becerra followed in Carter’s tire tracks. The duo entered lapped traffic on lap 14, which Becerra used to take the top spot away from Carter on lap 15. Action was slowed for the first time on lap 17 for debris and Carter slid past Becerra after the restart to gain the lead back. (Aug. 20, 2022) – With just two “memorial” nights of racing remaining to wrap up the 2022 racing season at Off Road Speedway, the Lynn Langenberg Memorial night on Saturday, which includes Championship Night hardware for those drivers at the top of the points lists in each of the four divisions, and the Bob Haase Memorial celebration on Sept. 3, three drivers made their first appearance in victory lane as feature winners, with Cory Dumpert the only repeat winner. Derek Sehi led a “Neligh sweep” of the first three places in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature, leading most of the race while Cameron Wilkinson, Nate Desive, Tejay Mielke and others competed for second place behind him. Ultimately, with no cautions forcing restarts after the first few laps, Sehi wasn’t threatened until Cameron Wilkinson, who finished second, closed on the outside during the final lap.
