Benton County Speedway car show set for April 2

VINTON, Iowa (March 16, 2022) – An old tradition is returning for race fans of The Bullring. What used to be an annual event to kick off the season at Benton County Speedway, the annual car show on the streets of downtown Vinton is making its return. Sponsored and hosted by Ron Da Voo Lounge and Deli, competitors at The Bullring are invited to put their cars on display from noon-4 p.m. on 1st Ave Saturday, April 2. Prizes will be awarded in each of the six weekly divisions scheduled to compete this season – IMCA-sanctioned Modifieds, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks, Northern SportMods and Sport Compacts, plus Legends. A Best of Show award is sponsored by Lil Racer Car Club. Racing theme for gender reveal: Blue is for baby & Foster’s IMCA Northern SportMod

AVOCA, Iowa (March 15, 2022) – Nick Foster didn’t just learn his first child would be a boy during a Saturday afternoon gender reveal. The Avoca, Iowa, driver found out his IMCA Northern SportMod would be blue, too Foster and girlfriend Whitney Anderson are expecting in early July. Whitney knew in February that the baby would be a boy and contacted Justin Webb and Clint Winey at Blue Space Creative in Denison about a blue wrap Keith Knop kept the car at his shop in Shelby, then delivered it to the Avoca Countryview Golf Course for the March 12 unveiling. “I would have put all my life’s savings down it was a girl. Allstar Performance gives race night recognition with IMCA heat winner decal program support

WATERVLIET, Mich. (March 15, 2022) – Drivers in all nine IMCA divisions receive race night recognition from Allstar Performances again this season.  Marking its 30th year of business, the Watervliet, Mich., high performance parts manufacturer provides the decals given to all heat race winners. Hogge, Ryland top opening night features at Ocean

By Don Martin II WATSONVILLE, Calif. (March 11, 2022) – Bobby Hogge IV opened the 63rd season of racing at Ocean Speedway with a dominant IMCA Modified feature win Friday night. One early tangle proved to be the only slowdown of the race. Hogge led the restart ahead of reigning KMJ Performance State champion Jim Pettit II and four-time and defending track champion Cody Burke. Burke took second from Pettit on the fourth lap and Pettit fell back to fifth on lap six as Matthew Hagio settled into third.  Hogge held a half-lap lead over Burke by the 11th circuit. Burke fell out on lap 12 as Hagio was now second ahead of Anthony Copeland. Pettit slipped past Copeland for third on lap 18 but was a lap down as Hogge won ahead of Hagio and Pettit. DeCarlo, Ryland open season with wins at Antioch

By Don Martin II ANTIOCH, Calif. (March 12, 2022) – Nick DeCarlo scored the win in the 25-lap IMCA Modified main event Saturday at Antioch Speedway. This was the first race of the 62nd championship season at the track, and it was DeCarlo’s first win in two years. Kellen Chadwick jumped into the lead at the start with DeCarlo not far behind in second. The leaders caught heavy traffic on lap 15 and DeCarlo made an inside pass on the backstretch on lap 16 to grab the lead.  Bobby Hogge IV made a high pass in turn two on Lap 17 to take the lead from DeCarlo, but DeCarlo came back strong with an outside pass in turn four to regain command. During the final circuits, Hogge kept it close but DeCarlo prevailed for the well-earned victory. IMCA Modified Western Region drivers race under Shaw Race Cars banner again in 2022

BATESVILLE, Ark. (March 9, 2022) – The Shaw Race Cars banner flies over IMCA’s Western Region for Modifieds for an 11th consecutive season in 2022.  The Batesville, Ark., chassis builder, owned by Scott and Marlene Mosley, again provides a portion of the point fund to be paid to top 10 drivers in point standings for the region that includes tracks in Arizona, California, western Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, northern New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. “Working with IMCA has been very good for us.
