RIVERSIDE, N.J. – National champions and rookies of the year in all divisions receive awards again this season from RH2, the Official Communications Supplier for IMCA. Track title quests continue at U.S. 36 Raceway

OSBORN, Mo. – With Modified Madness in the rear view mirror, the IMCA divisions racing for track championships continue the battle this Friday, May 29 at U.S. 36 Raceway.  IMCA Modifieds, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern­SportMods are all set to hit the high banks. The pit gates open at 4 p.m. The grandstands open at 6 p.m., with hot laps at 7:30 and the first heat race at 8 p.m.  Tickets for the event are $15. Seniors and military are $12 and children 12 and younger are free. A pit pass is $35. $250 Sunoco bonus awaits IMCA Late Model winner at 34 Raceway

WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa – The payday got even better for the winner of Saturday’s main event for IMCA Sunoco Late Models at 34 Raceway.  The second $250 Sunoco Race Fuels bonus of the season will be paid to the May 30 Late Model winner at 34. Sunoco bonuses will be presented at Late Model sanctioned tracks this year. Drivers are eligible for one bonus during the 2020 racing season. Jeff Aikey was the winner at Independence Motor Speedway last Saturday night. IMCA will announce mid-week before the dates bonuses are to be awarded at each track.  While the grandstand will be closed, fans will have the opportunity to watch the night’s racing action by logging on to IMCA.tv or affiliate DoneRight.tv. The live streaming service will carry a one-time charge and will not require a membership to watch from the comfort of your living room. Hot laps are scheduled to take to the track at 6:15 p.m. with racing to follow.

CJ Speedway hosts racing action this Friday

By Jerry Mackey  COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa – CJ Speedway hosts a full program of racing this Friday night, with IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Mach-1 Sport Compacts on the May 29 card  All cars entering the pit area will be allowed to be accompanied by 10 patrons. Warm-ups are scheduled to take to the track at 7 p.m. CJ will comply with Covid-19 guidelines set forth by the Iowa governor. This means the grandstand will not be open. On Friday, June 5, CJ Speedway will host a full night of racing with the grandstand being open for the dedicated CJ Speedway fans. IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars featured Friday at Heart O’ Texas

WACO, Texas – IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars join the Friday lineup, racing for $750 to win and $100 to start on opening night of Heart O’ Texas Speedway’s Quarantine Weekend.  IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Texas State points will be awarded to the winged warriors as well on May 29, as they join IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods for the draw/redraw show at Waco.  Gates open at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 8 p.m. There is no entry fee and pit passes are $35. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and military, $5 for students ages 6-12 and free for ages five and under. Drivers will be allowed up to six people in their pit area and social distancing guidelines will be followed on both sides of the track. Face masks are recommended and hand sanitizer stations will be located around the facility.

Carolina RaceSaver Nationals postponed due to weather; replacement race scheduled

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (May 27) – Due to inclement weather and persistent negative forecasts, the much anticipated Carolina RaceSaver Nationals originally scheduled for this weekend (May 29-30) has been postponed to Oct. 23-24. A replacement single-day event has been scheduled at PPG Raceway in Fayetteville on June 6 paying $1,000 to the winner and $225 to start. “As they say, sometimes it rains,” said Sean Vardell of the Tribodyn Carolina Sprint Tour. “We were really looking forward to this event but are hoping to make it that much better in October when more folks are able to travel and join us for the inaugural Carolina Nationals. Memorial Clash checkers put Thies on All-Star ballot

JEFFERSON, S.D. (May 23) – Fans at Park Jefferson Speedway have been cheering for Jim Thies since he started racing some 27 years ago. They got to cheer for him again Saturday night, as Thies scored his first IMCA Modified feature win of the season. The Memorial Clash checkers paid $1,000 and put the Mapleton, Iowa, hot­shoe on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.  “It’s nice when you can still get it done when you’re this old,” said Thies, who held off Shane DeMey and Chris Mills following a late restart in the flag-to-flag run. “It’s always fun to win.”  The victory, his career 32nd in the class, came in Thies’ sixth start close to home after starting the sea­son in Texas. IMCA championship chase starts Friday at Lee County Speedway

DONNELLSON, Iowa – The race for track championships in five IMCA divisions starts Friday night at Lee County Speedway.  The May 29 program sees IMCA Sunoco Late Models running for $700 to win, IMCA Modifieds for $600 to win, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both for $500 to win and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for a top check of $250.  IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and state, as well as track points are at stake. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. with racing to follow 7 p.m. hot laps. Pit passes are $30. Dodge City sets June 14 practice to precede season opener

By Lonnie Wheatley  DODGE CITY, Kan. – At long last, the 2020 season opener atop the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval in southwest Kansas is within reach.  But before the season officially gets under way on June 20, the track has set an open practice for Sunday, June 14, from 5-9 p.m.  The practice set for the 3/8-mile oval precedes the Saturday, June 20 season opener that features the $750-to-win IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock Roundup with the Precise Racing Products Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars in action as well.
