Opening night is Friday at Clay County Fair Speedway

SPENCER, Iowa – A full season of IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing begins at the Clay County Fair Speedway this Friday, May 8. Divisions featured this season are IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts. Mother’s Day Race for the Cure Saturday at Canyon

By Lonnie Wheatley PEORIA, Ariz. – The action continues to heat up at Canyon Speedway Park with a full slate of action on tap with this Saturday night’s fifth annual Mother’s Day Race for the Cure atop the 1/3-mile clay oval. The May 9 card that gets under way at 7 p.m. features the 9th World Vapor IMCA Modifieds along with Arizona Differential Pure Stocks, Scottsdale Muffler & Automotive Renegades, Mini Stocks, Dwarf Cars and Lady Stocks. Second try for opening fight Friday at Salina Speedway 

By Dusty Wiegert SALINA, Kan. – Last week the engines roared to life as cars took to the Salina Speedway’s 3/8 mile oval for the first time in 2015. It was short-lived, however, as severe storms closed in and forced the cancellation of the night’s events before they got started. Race teams and fans are now anticipating the second take on opening night Friday, May 1. All that was completed in last week’s show was hot laps, so this week’s racing will start from scratch, with seven divisions competing in qualifying heat races and features. Koehler Electric season opener at Davenport …. take two

DAVENPORT, Iowa – After last week’s rainout, Davenport Speedway will host the Koehler Elec­tric season opener this Friday, May 1. All five weekly classes, Petersen Plumbing & Heating IMCA Late Models, Milan Heating & Air IMCA Modifieds, Koehler Electric Street Stocks, Hawkeye Auto IMCA Northern SportMods and Roto-Rooter 4-Stocks, will be in action on the 1/4-mile dirt oval. Defending track champions are Justin Kay, Late Model; Doug Crampton, Modified; Bryce Garnhart, Northern SportMod; Donnie Louck, Street Stock; and Brandon Dahl, 4-Stock. Make A Wish Night is Saturday at Bakersfield 

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – A $1,000 to win feature for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds is on the program during Bakersfield Speedway’s Make A Wish Night this Saturday, May 2. The Modified event is a qualifier for the 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Funds raised Saturday go to local Make A Wish families in Kern County. Hobby Stocks, American Stocks, Mod Lites and Mini Dwarfs also race. Gates open at 4 p.m. with racing at 6 p.m. Spectator admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and military, $5 for kids ages 6-12 and free for five and under.

Ashley returns to Cottage Grove on Fan Appreciation Night 

By Ben Deatherage COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. – IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds make their return to Cottage Grove Speedway this Saturday, May 2 for Fan Appreciation Night presented by Huddle Automo­tive Repair. One of the drivers who will be shredding the clay at the 1/4-mile clay oval will be Jasper’s Eric Ashley. It will be the first start of the season for the Furniture Options, Ashley Family Racing, Hanke Racing-sponsored number 84 entry. “I’m pretty excited to get back out there after helping my dad out a little bit this year,” commented Ashley. “I also have to give credit to Ray and Shannon Hanke for their support of my team this season.” Ashley has spent the season wrenching for his father Gene and his friend Jesse Williamson. Willamette fights hunger this Saturday

By Ben Deatherage LEBANON, Ore. – Fans bringing a can of non-perishable food to the track on Saturday, May 2 for Fight Hunger Night at Willamette Speedway receive a $2 discount off their cost of grandstand admission Along with IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, classes racing that evening will be the Super Dirt Late Models, Sportsman and Street Stocks. Dustin Cady picked up the win in the first IMCA Modified race of the season last Saturday after a late-race move around Bricen James. Cady is on a streak of two straight wins, going back to the last race of 2014. Pit gates open at 1 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Racing starts at 6 p.m.

Weekly racing resumes Sunday at Seymour

By Dave Panske SEYMOUR, Wis. – Weekly racing action resumes Sunday night, May 3 at Seymour  Speedway. All five divisions will be in action on the 1/3-mile banked clay oval. Budweiser IMCA Modifieds, Coors Light IMCA Stock Cars, O’Reilly Auto Parts IMCA Northern SportMods, Turbo Blue Street Stocks and 4 Cylinders will be joined by the spectator eliminators for the first time this season. Shiocton Automotive and DA Swamp are title sponsors for the activities. WAPL 105.7 will also be at the track doing a live remote from 3:30 to 5:15 p.m. Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 4 p.m. with racing at 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

IMCA Modifieds race for $650 to win at Sunset Speedway Park

The Budweiser IMCA Modifieds will be back after a week off and race for $650 to win. Princeton opens May 1 with IMCA Modifieds, Northern SportMods, Sport Compacts

PRINCETON, Minn. – Three IMCA divisions will have another regular weekly home in central Minnesota, when Princeton Speedway opens for the season on May 1. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts run on Fridays on the quarter-mile Mille Lacs County Fairgrounds dirt venue. IMCA Eagle Motor Sports Sprint Cars join May 15, June 26, July 24 and Sept. 18 shows at Prince­ton.
