COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. – IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds make their return to Cottage Grove Speedway this Saturday, May 2 for Fan Appreciation Night presented by Huddle Automotive Repair.

One of the drivers who will be shredding the clay at the 1/4-mile clay oval will be Jasper’s Eric Ashley. It will be the first start of the season for the Furniture Options, Ashley Family Racing, Hanke Racing-sponsored number 84 entry.

“I’m pretty excited to get back out there after helping my dad out a little bit this year,” commented Ashley. “I also have to give credit to Ray and Shannon Hanke for their support of my team this season.”

Ashley has spent the season wrenching for his father Gene and his friend Jesse Williamson. Both those drivers have visited victory lane once this season, Gene in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Williamson in the Modifieds. Will it be Ashley’s turn to win this weekend?  The last time Eric raced he posted an impressive fifth place on September 20th last season in only seven starts the whole year.

“It would be nice to come out of the box and get a win,” he said.

Also on the card are 360 Sprints, Late Models, Street Stocks, and the Quality RV Repair Hornets. Pit gates open at 2 p.m. and the front gates open at 4 p.m. Qualifying is at 5:30 p.m. and racing begins at approximately 6:45 p.m.
