West Liberty Raceway hosts Saturday IMCA Late Model special

By Jerry Mackey WEST LIBERTY, Iowa – Following two consecutive weeks of rainouts, West Liberty Raceway is set to host the Ideal Ready Mix Tri-Track Challenge. Winner of the Saturday, June 3 IMCA Late Model feature will walk away with a cool $2,000. The night’s racing action will also be the Jennifer Brauns Massey Memorial. Jennifer lost her bat­tle with cancer this past December, Jennifer’s brother Jon Brauns and nephew Jonathan are dedicat­ing this racing season to her memory and are racing to create awareness of ovarian can­cer. In addition to the IMCA Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Mach-1 Sport Compacts will all be in action. During Intermission, kids in attendance will take part in the world’s largest candy scramble. The West Liberty Raceway half-mile clay track is located on the Muscatine County Fairgrounds. Farley, Dubuque set for IMCA Late Model specials 

By Jerry Mackey FARLEY, Iowa – Officials of Farley Speedway Promotions have announced that both Farley Speedway and Dubuque Speedway will host IMCA Late Model specials this coming weekend, Friday, June 2 and Sunday, June 4. Tri-Track Late Model racing events sponsored by Ideal Ready Mix will highlight the racing action this weekend. Late Model drivers will battle for the winner’s prize money of $2,000. In addition to the high-powered Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars will race both Friday and Sunday. Farley Speedway will host racing on Friday, June 2 with hot laps taking to the Palace of Speed at 7 p.m. with racing to follow. Families battle for IMCA Modified crown at Perris

PERRIS, Calif. – When it comes to families in racing one must look no farther than the IMCA Modi­fieds when they return to Perris Auto Speedway this Saturday night, June 3. Four of the top five places in the championship standings are occupied by fathers and their racing chil­dren and all are expected to be in action Saturday, when spectator gates open at 5 p.m. and the first race will be at 7 p.m. Billy Wormsbecker is the IMCA point leader heading into round four at Perris. However, if he feels some families may stick together and gang up on him, it is perfectly understandable. Dodge City title chases continue on Sunday, free admission for military personnel

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. – Auto racing and the Memorial Day weekend have gone hand-in-hand in the United States for many years.  As such, it is only fitting that championship chase action at Dodge City Raceway Park continues with a special Sunday night, May 28 card this week. And to honor those who protect our nation, Sunday’s second Lewis Automotive Night of the sea­son that goes green at 7:30 p.m. will offer free admission to military personnel and their depend­ents. Military personnel simply need to show proper ID for free admission. Tickets are $15 for adults with children 11 and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult. A pair of bicycles will also be awarded to two fortunate children. Out Pace Racing Products Late Models battle it out on the Muscatine County Fairgrounds half-mile for 40 laps with the winner pocketing $2,000. Late Models will be battling it out for the $2,000 top prize. IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars debut at Park Jefferson

JEFFERSON, S.D. – History will be made this Saturday, May 20 as Park Jefferson Speedway will welcome the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars for the first time. Gates open at 5 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. Grandstand admission for adults is $12, seniors 70-plus are $5 and children are $2. The Budweiser clubhouse will be open and a clubhouse pass can be added to any ticket for $12. Turner Plumbing of Vermillion will be the feature sponsor.

Sunset Speedway Park opens Saturday with Ladies’ Night 

By Ben Deatherage BANKS, Ore. – IMCA Modifieds are on the card when Sunset Speedway Park opens for the sea­son on Saturday, May 6. The first round of IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing action will be Lime-A-Rita Ladies’ Night where all ladies 18 years or older get into the races for $5. “The weather hasn’t been the kindest to us this year,” commented Nikki Gamell, Sunset manager. “We’re very excited to finally get some racing in. We also want to invite all those lovely ladies out there to come out and have some fun.” Pit gates open at 2 p.m. and the front gate opens at 4 p.m. Racing kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $13 for adults, seniors, military and juniors ages 13-17 are $10, youth ages 6-12 are $5 and children five and under are free. Lee County paying $1,000 to May 4 winners in IMCA Modifieds, Stocks, Northern SportMods

DONNELLSON, Iowa – Checks for $1,000 go to feature winners in three IMCA divisions at Lee County Speedway’s Thursday, May 4 special. IMCA Modified, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod main events all pay $1,000 to win while the Mach-1 Sport Compact feature pays $300 to win. The evening’s Modi­fied headliner is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier.
