Thunder Hill’s Covert Memorial pays $1,000 to IMCA Modified winner 

MAYETTA, Kan. – IMCA Modifieds run for $1,000 to win along with a Fast Shafts All-Star Invita­tional ballot berth this Saturday, July 15 at Thunder Hill Speedway. There is no entry fee. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks complete the card; IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, re­gional, Allstar Performance State and track points will be awarded. Pit gates and the grandstand open at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 7 p.m. with racing to follow. Grandstand admission is $10 for adults and free for kids 10 and under. Pit passes are $25.

IMCA Hobby Stock Showdown set for Friday at Hancock County 

BRITT, Iowa – Hancock County Speedway hosts the $1,000 to win Friday, July 7 IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock Showdown. A minimum of $100 will be paid to start and all other regular weekly divisions will be on the program. The Showdown will be broadcast on IMCATV. Pit gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 6 p.m. Racing follows 7 p.m. hot laps. Grandstand admission is $10 for adults, $5 for stu­dents, seniors and veterans, and free for kids 12 and un­der. Pit passes are $25. Free grandstand admission Friday at Farley

A full program of IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing action will be held and all fans will be free to the grandstand. The 3/8-mile oval will see action heat up with hot laps at 7 p.m. with racing to follow. Dodge City title chases hit the midway point this Saturday 

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. – The state-of-the-art Dodge City Raceway Park will reach the midway point of the 2017 racing season with a full card of championship chase action this Saturday night, July 1. Saturday’s action that fires off at 7:30 p.m. featuring the Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars along with IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Thus far, huge fields of cars have been the norm on nights in which all five featured championship chase divisions have been in action with an average of more than 100 cars per night. Tickets for Saturday’s championship chase action are $15 for adults with children 11 and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult. The 2017 season at Dodge City Raceway Park consists of 14 total nights of scheduled racing action, culminating with the Boot Hill Showdown on Oct. 27-28.

$1,000 checks go to IMCA Modified, Hobby winners at Clay County special 

SPENCER, Iowa – One thousand dollars is the top prize for both IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks at Clay County Fair Speedway’s June 26 Monday Night Madness special. The Modified feature is a qualifier for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods complete the card, running for $500 to win. All IMCA points, including track, will be awarded and there is no entry fee in any division. The Hobby Stock feature is the first of four Summer Speedweek events at area tracks. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 6 p.m. Hot laps are at 7 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. Grandstand admission is $15 and pit passes are $25. Friday will be a beach at Lee County

DONNELLSON, Iowa – This Friday night, June 23 is “Beach Night” at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson. Anyone fan wearing only a swimming suit gets into the grandstand for half price. You are welcome to bring towels, extra clothes or sandals, and whatever you would bring to the beach. We are going to attempt to make a giant water slide in victory lane. All ages will be allowed to participate as long as a waiver is signed. Kids must have parents present to sign. All drivers and significant others also bring your swimming suit as we will have a contest who goes the farthest. This will be a night of fun and laughs. Who is ready to slip and slide on Friday night? Which driver will go the farthest?

Free grandstand admission Sunday at Dubuque Speedway

By Jerry Mackey DUBUQUE, Iowa – This Sunday, June 11 has been declared Fan/Driver Appreciation Night at Dubuque Speedway. All fans will be admitted to the grandstands free. The IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing program will get underway on the high banked 3/8-mile clay track with hot laps at 6 p.m. and racing at 6:30 p.m. The night’s action will include racing in four sanctioned divisions, the Out-Pace Racing Products IMCA Late Models, Merfeld Brothers Automotive IMCA Modifieds, GSI Collision Specialists IMCA Northern SportMods and Bakey Seamless Gutters IMCA Stock Cars.

Bounty on Munoz amps up Dodge City Stock Car Spectacular 

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. – This Saturday night’s Inaugural Stock Car Spectacular at Dodge City Race­way Park was already shaping up to live up to its moniker. Now it will likely be beyond “Spectacular” with a price put upon the head of Angel Munoz. The Lamar, Colo., racer has been a seemingly unstoppable force in this year’s IMCA Sunoco Stock Car ranks atop the 3/8-mile Dodge City clay oval, racing to victory lane in all three events thus far. Munoz sets his sights on four wins in a row going into Saturday’s Stock Car Spectacular that also includes a full slate of IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. West Liberty Raceway hosts Saturday IMCA Late Model special

By Jerry Mackey WEST LIBERTY, Iowa – Following two consecutive weeks of rainouts, West Liberty Raceway is set to host the Ideal Ready Mix Tri-Track Challenge. Winner of the Saturday, June 3 IMCA Late Model feature will walk away with a cool $2,000. The night’s racing action will also be the Jennifer Brauns Massey Memorial. Jennifer lost her bat­tle with cancer this past December, Jennifer’s brother Jon Brauns and nephew Jonathan are dedicat­ing this racing season to her memory and are racing to create awareness of ovarian can­cer. In addition to the IMCA Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Mach-1 Sport Compacts will all be in action. During Intermission, kids in attendance will take part in the world’s largest candy scramble. The West Liberty Raceway half-mile clay track is located on the Muscatine County Fairgrounds. Farley, Dubuque set for IMCA Late Model specials

Tri-Track Late Model racing events sponsored by Ideal Ready Mix will highlight the racing action this weekend. Late Model drivers will battle for the winner’s prize money of $2,000. In addition to the high-powered Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars will race both Friday and Sunday.
