Super Nationals engine auction adds $15,300 to Saturday’s main event purse

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 12) – The public auction of Saturday champions’ motors added $15,300 to the purse for the final night main events at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Ca­sey’s. The engine of Modified champion Kyle Strickler brought the top bid of $5,500 during the auction, conducted in the infield at Boone Speedway following the evening’s race program. The other 32 starters in the Modified main each receive an equal share of those proceeds, $171.88. Stock Car champion Dustin Larson’s motor sold for $5,400, Northern SportMod champion Clint Luellen’s for $2,300 and Hobby Stock champion Jason Wilkinson’s for $2,100. Each of the other 29 starters on the Stock Car main will receive an additional $186.21, each additional Northern SportMod starter $79.31 and each additional Hobby Stock starter $72.41. Checks have been mailed from the IMCA home office. As part of generous contingency awards packages, Strickler, Luellen and Wilkinson all receive crate engines from Karl Chevrolet. Larson gets a new power plant courtesy of Karl Performance.

Championship Saturday starts at Boone Speedway 

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 12) – Championship Saturday is underway at Boone Speedway. The record-setting 33rd annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s comes to a close today, with the crowning of champions in the Hobby Stock, Northern SportMod, Stock Car and ultimately the Modified division. Race of champion events are also slated for those four classes. First on the docket, however, are a last-chance feature to fill the Stock Car grid and last-chance heats and features to add the final nine cars to the Modified field.
