Chevrolet Performance boosts IMCA crate bonuses

GRAND BLANC, Mich. (March 27) – Drivers in two more IMCA divisions winning track championships while competing exclusively with crate engines will receive post-season cash bonuses from Chevrolet Performance. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks join Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods as part of a three-year pact. Crate engine-powered drivers in all four divisions earn $250 cash bonuses for each local track championship they win during the 2014, 2015 and 2016 race seasons. “Chevrolet Performance is starting their 10th year as a sponsor. IMCA Northern SportMods find Saturday home at Southern Oregon

WHITE CITY, Ore. (March 27) – The Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods have found yet another new home in another state. Southern Oregon Speedway at White City has added the division to Saturday programs beginning with opening night on April 26. “Drivers in our ‘B’ modified class wanted us to sanction. They like the IMCA rules because they can also race in California and Nevada, and at events like the Duel In The Desert,” explained Operations Manager Chuck Prather Jr. “Our drivers like the engine option. This is an economical division and I believe car count numbers will grow here,” he added. “The Northern SportMods will be a very good complement to the IMCA Modifieds.” The 2013 season was the first for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds at Southern Oregon, a 1/3-mile clay oval. IMCA Modifieds expected to have another smashing year at Willamette

By Ben Deatherage LEBANON, Ore. – Although Willamette Speedway has only hosted weekly IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified action for less than 10 years, they have no doubt provided some of the best action on the entire Pacific Coast. In the last three seasons there have been three different champions and last year saw a good mix of different faces in the winner’s circle. “The IMCA Modifieds are the most unpredictable class at Willamette,” commented speedway announcer Cory Penfold. ” There were 11 different winners in the first 11 races which shows how tough it can be to win here. PRO Shocks adds Sprint Cars to IMCA awards program

BOONVILLE, Ind. (March 26) – The accomplishments of another national IMCA champion will be recognized this season by PRO Shocks. Deery Series destined for Denison in 2014 opener

DENISON, Iowa (March 26) – The Deery Brothers Summer Series ends an absence of nearly 20 years when the 2014 tour opens on Saturday, April 5 at Crawford County Speedway. The IMCA Late Model series made its one and only appearance at Denison back on July 28 of 1994. Late Models will be paired with IMCA Eagle Motorsports RaceSaver Sprint Cars for their much-anticipated return engagement. The main event pays $3,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. Pit gates open at 1 p.m., the grandstand opens at 3 p.m., hot laps are at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 5 p.m. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $10 for students and free for kids ages five and under. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds run for $1,000 to win in 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars chase $750 checks in Dirt Track Central Jax Sports Grille Great Plains Series shows. Taylor brings broom to Batesville and sweeps Mid-America Modified Championship features

BATESVILLE, Ark. (March 20-22) – Jeff Taylor’s North Dakota car is pretty fast in Arkansas, too. Taylor swept the three Mid-America Modified Championship features at Batesville Motor Speedway, earning $1,500 for each of his Thursday, Friday and Saturday IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified feature wins. “I’ve never won three nights in a row. I’ve won twice before but this is the first time I’ve ever done that,” said Taylor, new to the 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. “I had a really good race car all three nights and a lot of help getting it that way. Summit returns to national decal program for IMCA Modifieds, gives awards in eight divisions

Opening night honors at Beatrice belong to Grabouski

BEATRICE, Neb. (March 21) – A familiar face was back in victory lane following the headline event on opening night of Spring Nationals at Beatrice Speedway. Jordan Grabouski earned $2,000 for the Friday night IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified checkers. The victory was his career fifth at Spring Nationals and IMCA 96th. “I found the middle to the top of the track, kept the car straight and kept my momentum up,” said Grabouski,” who had started sixth and passed David Murray Jr. for the lead on the eighth of 30 laps. “This is a new car and I was fortunate to have a really fast ride right out of the box.
