Most is too much for IMCA Modified Blowout foes at US 36

(Aug. 2) – Every division had an increased payout on the line Friday at US 36 Raceway, but the IMCA Modifieds had the most to fight for with a $1,500 check going home with Josh Most, winner of the Modified Blowout presented by Lent Prints. Clay Hale and Steven Bowers started the race from the front row for the 25-lap race, with Bowers taking the advantage into the opening corner. While Bowers paced the race early, Most began working his way from eighth starting. Most moved through the field by running alternate lines from the rest of the field. Most had moved to third before the yellow flew on lap seven. On the restart, Most advanced to second while Chad Clancy moved into the picture as he took third, after starting 11th. A few laps after the restart, Most and Bowers made contact in turn one. Most let Bowers collect himself before making another attempt at taking the lead away. Clay County, Fairmont dates are next for IMCA Dirt Knights

SPENCER, Iowa (Aug. 2) – IMCA Modifieds will be on the road to Clay County Fair Speedway for round six of the Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights Tour. The Monday, Aug. 5 feature pays $1,500 to win and is a qualifying event for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 6 p.m. at Spencer, hometown of series title sponsor Arnold Motor Supply. Hot laps are at 7 p.m. with racing to follow. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults and free for kids ages 12 and under. Pit passes are $30 for adults and $15 for minors. IMCA Stock Car Series returns to Sunset Speedway Park

By Ben Deatherage BANKS, Ore. – The inaugural season of the Big Sky Landscaping IMCA Sunoco Stock Car Series is back in action at Sunset Speedway Park this Saturday, Aug. 3. The tour has ventured to the Banks Bullring on three occasions in 2019 and has seen three different winners. Jerry Schram, Kevin Roberts, and Donald Schott are the three SSP winners this year. Overall, Schram is tied for most wins with Sean Gentry with two wins each. However, Schram is the only driver to have two wins at two different tracks. Roberts, Schott, Dakota Godard and Brian Cronk all have won with the series once during the current campaign. It will be Kids’ Night at Banks, which means that children ages 12 and under get in free. Gustin capitalizes on late-race opportunity for Dirt Knights Tour triumph at Kossuth County

ALGONA, Iowa (Aug. 1) – In the right place at the right time, Richie Gustin won Thursday’s Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights Tour main event at Kossuth County Speedway. A bobble with three laps left by Jeremy Mills opened the door for Gustin, who zoomed by to take the $1,500 checkers and his fourth win of the 2019 IMCA Modified tour. Mills ended second in the caution-free contest. Austin Wolf, Ryan Ruter and Corey Dripps completed the top five in the county fair show. Hard charger Cody Laney advanced 10 positions. Already on the 2020 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot, Gustin now has a tour career best 12 feature wins. The Kossuth County show had been postponed a week because of inclement weather. BOONE, Iowa – Nine IMCA Modified drivers make career-first starts while three former race winners look for new success in the 16th annual Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Shawano Races for a Reason Saturday night

By Dave Buss SHAWANO, Wis. (July 27) – There a couple of nights where the action on the track takes second stage to the events going on at the track. On Saturday, Racing for a Reason took center stage as the amazing fans and race teams at Shawano Speedway worked together to raise money for the fight against childhood cancer. Mark Weisnicht grabbed the lead from his front row starting spot and never give it up on his way to an $800 IMCA Modified payday. Marcus Yarie moved into second and kept the pressure on to the finish but not have enough to get around Weisnight. Lucas Lamberies came from the 12th starting spot to grab third with Jason Czarapata and Lance Arneson scored next. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars hit the track with Kurt Olson grabbing the early lead. ALGONA, Iowa – The Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights Tour returns to Kossuth County Speedway for top billing at the Thursday, Aug. 1 county fair show. Traveling IMCA Modifieds run for $1,500 to win, plus a 2020 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods all run for $1,000 to win and Mach-1 Sport Compacts complete the program at Algona. Selinsgrove checkers give Duke PASS weekend sweep

(July 27) – Ken Duke Jr. capped a perfect racing weekend with a late pass for the lead and his second straight hometown victory in Saturday’s 20-lap Pennsylvania Sprint Series feature at Selinsgrove Speedway. The Selinsgrove IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car win followed Duke’s victory Friday at Clinton County Motor Speedway and was his seventh of the year in PASS competition; he also has won with the Laurel Highlands Sprint Series. “The track didn’t slick off quite as much as I thought it would for the feature,” Duke said in victory lane, “so we were a little tight at the beginning, but the longer we ran, the better we got. Aug. 23 is deadline for Super Nationals pit stall reservations

BOONE, Iowa – Pit stall reservations for the 37th annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s must be made by noon on Friday, Aug. 23. Modified, Stock Car, Hobby Stock and Northern SportMod drivers must be pre-entered before they make pit stall reservations. Pit stalls at Boone Speedway are $100 and must be reserved online. In the event a driver does not show up as scheduled, their pit stall will be issued to another driver. A waiting list will be started for overflow and drivers who cannot be accommodated will receive refunds. Pit stall reservations are not required for Late Models and Sport Compacts, which are both one-day programs.
