IMCA Stock Car, Hobby, SportMod drivers chase Mitchell Machine contingency awards

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa – Mitchell Machine rewards the on-track accomplishments of IMCA drivers in four divisions for a 14th consecutive season. Regional point standings for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, and national point standings for Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods again determine recipients of contingency awards given by the Webster City, Iowa, transmission manufacturer and machine shop. Drivers in all of those divisions are required to compete with a Mitchell-manufactured transmission, return a sign-up form to the IMCA home office by Aug. 1, provide proof of purchase made between Jan. 1 and Oct. 1, 2020 and display two Mitchell Machine decals on their race car. Dialed in, Egbert drives to Jack Bagby Memorial win

WACO, Texas (March 6) – Quick to get a new car dialed in, P.J. Egbert was quick to get to the checkers and $1,000 IMCA Modified payday Friday at Heart O’ Texas Speedway’s Jack Bagby Memorial. Egbert led all 20 laps, moving from the top of the track to the lower line and holding off David Goode Jr. the last five times around the oval. “Luck was on our side, getting to start on the front row,” said Egbert, wheeling a 2020 Lethal Chassis at the 23rd annual special. “We can’t complain at all. It was good to get another win here.” Egbert had banked $5,000 and put his name of the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot when he won the Fall Classic in his most recent HO’T start last fall. Foley is first at Central Arizona Speedway

Foley took the IMCA Modified checkers ahead of Chaz Baca Jr., Spencer Wilson, Jacob Pace and Eston Whisler. Central Arizona Speedway resumes action during the Pinal County Fair on Saturday, Mach 21, with Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods joining the IMCA Modifieds on the program.

Edelbrock supports claim engine drivers, returns to IMCA Stock Car decal program

TORRANCE, Calif. – Edelbrock continues its support of IMCA drivers competing with claim engines for a 23rd season, renewing product and product certificate awards in five divisions. Southern Oklahoma Speedway starts new season with March 12-14 Stampede

ARDMORE, Okla. – IMCA Modifieds chase big checks and berths on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot each night of the season opening Southern Stampede March 12-14 at Southern Oklahoma Speedway. Modifieds run for $2,000 to win and $200 to start on Thursday, $1,000 to win and $100 to start on Friday and $3,000 to win and $300 to start on Saturday at Ardmore. Carroll collects $1,000 Fast Shafts All-Star win at I-37

Hallas PLEASANTON, Texas (March 7) – Chris Carroll took home the $1,000 win in the IMCA Modified 20-lapper, getting the best of some stiff competition and putting his name on the Fast Shafts all-Star Invitational ballot Saturday at I-37 Speedway. The opening night checkers came ahead of Cody Tidwell and Nebraska visitor Chad Andersen. Carroll made his drive from the third row, running down Andersen for the lead with the two side by side on lap eight and Carroll getting the top spot a lap later. Tidwell moved into second just after midway while Jared Maupin caught Dillon Tindall for fourth. While Carroll inched ahead, Andersen pressured Tidwell for second and Rick Green and Tindall scrapped for fifth. KENNEDALE, Texas – The Texas Sprint Series season opens with the Tony Hernandez Memorial at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday, March 7. Forty-two TSS teams have pre-entered to show their support for the Hernandez family and friends in attendance at the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car event. Hernandez was the TSS founder and passed away after his courageous battle with cancer on Jan. 31 and the series and teams will honor him during opening ceremonies. Bob Harris Enterprises expands IMCA program with Stock Car, Hobby Stock awards

AMES, Iowa – Awards for IMCA Sunoco Stock Car and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock drivers are new this season from Bob Harris Enterprises. In its eighth season as an IMCA sponsor, the Ames, Iowa, company gives two free shock rebuilds to a top five finisher at each of 15 special events for the Stock Cars and at each of 10 special events for Hobby Stocks. Alabama’s Tri-County Speedway sets six Saturday dates for IMCA Modifieds

FLOMATON, Ala. – An Alabama track with its share of amenities adds IMCA Modifieds to six Saturday night race programs this season. Tri-County Speedway at Flomaton hosts the sanctioned class on April 18, May 30, June 27, July 11, Aug. 22 and Sept. 19.
