IMCA national champions, top rookies earn awards from 10-year sponsor RH2

RIVERSIDE, N.J. – RH2 marks a decade of IMCA sponsorship this season, continuing an awards program benefitting top drivers in all eight sanctioned divisions. Located in Riverside, N.J., and the official communications supplier for the sanctioning body, RH2 will give Nitro helmet speakers to each national champion and national rookie of the year. Rookie awards were added last year. All 2019 RH2 awards will be presented during the national banquet in November. Information about RH2 products for use in IMCA competition is available at the www.rh2way.com website or by calling 609 876-9530. “With one-way listening devices almost standard practice at all IMCA sanctioned tracks, the RH2-installed helmet speakers have become a valuable option for drivers,” observed IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder. “I know the racers who’ve had them installed really endorse the product.”

Super Nationals deadline for early registration now Aug. 29

BOONE, Iowa – Drivers planning to compete at the 37th annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s have an additional six days to do so at the current pre-registration rates. More than 600 drivers have already completed the online registration process for the Sept. 2-7 Super Nationals and those that do so by noon CST Thursday, Aug. 29 pay entry fees now in place … $40 for Modifieds, $25 for Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks and Northern SportMods, and $15 for Sport Compacts. Modified, Stock Car, Hobby Stock and Northern SportMod drivers are also required to pre-register to reserve pit stalls and to compete in the Aug. 31 Prelude at Boone Speedway. Big excitement guaranteed at RaceSaver Nationals, today is final day to pre-enter at $15 discount rate

EAGLE, Neb. – The competition is already guaranteed to be top-rate at the seventh annual RaceSaver Nationals Aug. 29-Sept. 1. But Eagle Raceway and event promoter Roger Hadan hopes to see even more entries for the event with the Big Wings, Big Excitement billing. “We’ve got right around 100 drivers from 16 states pre-entered for this year’s event,” noted Hadan. “A lot of them have competed here before. Hurst leads every lap in race to Quincy Deery checkers

QUINCY, Ill. (Aug. 18) – There was no catching Jeremiah Hurst Sunday night, on a track he’s predictably run well at. Hurst led all 30 laps in winning the Deery Brothers Summer Series main event at Quincy Raceway. His career fourth IMCA Late Model tour victory was good for $2,000. “I’ve always run good at Quincy. Rain forces cancellation of Championship Night at US 36 Raceway

OSBORN, Mo. – Due to overnight thunderstorms and more forecasted rain later tonight, US 36 Raceway officials have decided to cancel racing for Aug. 16. This will conclude the championship chase for the season as US 36 will focus on the remaining specials scheduled for 2019. US 36 Raceway has two big post-season events planned as the Sprint Series of Nebraska joins the Saturday Sep. 28 show. Then on Oct. 9-12, it is the inaugural IMCA Missouri Nationals. Details are being finalized for the two events and more information will be released soon.

Building on success, Berry to raise bar for Super Nationals

NEWBURG, N.D. – He’s already had a season full of career highlights, but Tom Berry Jr. will be looking to raise the bar again at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. “We’re going to go to Boone with the goal of making the show. Once you qualify, you can race hard and try to win the thing,” said Berry, from Newburg, N.D., and most recently winner of Hancock County Speedway’s Night of 10,000 Stars IMCA Modified man event. “We’re already in the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational and are eligible to qualify for the Harris Auto Racing Race of Champions. Green grabs Modified gold at I-37

By J.M. Hallas PLEASANTON, Texas (Aug. 10) – Rick Green picked another IMCA Modified win, coming from eighth starting Saturday at I-37 Speedway. After a couple rocky tries at starts, Green powered his way to the front on lap three, held off Dillon Tindall through the early stages and then pulled away the final half to secure the victory. “It’s a long way when you have to start back in the fourth row,” said Green. “It worked out pretty good. Once Dillon showed me the line the second time, I knew there must be something up there. That’s when I went up to the high side and the car was excellent.” “I was kind of a sitting duck running out front. Salem Memorial is this weekend for Rebels

By David Smith, Jr., OKTidbits OBERLIN, Kan. – The Lucas Oil POWRi United Rebel Sprint Series presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing has its sights set on this coming weekend, Aug. 16-17, for the annual Eagle Travel Stop and Convenience Stores Bob Salem Memorial at Oberlin Speedway. Friday night’s opener will pay $700 to win for the nights feature finale. Saturday night will once again see a full set of heat and last chance races for the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car series with the championship finale paying $1,200 to the winner. Saturday’s Bob Salem Memorial championship was originally scheduled to pay $1,000 to win. Scott Precision Aerial added the extra $200. Both Friday and Saturday shows see gates open at 4 p.m. with race action slated for 7:30 p.m. Grandstand adult general admission will be $15 each night while ages 7-12 will be $10. Children ages 6 and under will be admitted into the grandstands for free.

US 36 Raceway to crown champions this Friday

The early part of the season was marred with rainouts and cancellations. As the season started to reach the end, drivers started to find a rhythm in the weekly schedule and the season-long battle is set to conclude this weekend for the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods.
