Lee County Speedway opens with March 25, 26 Spring Extravaganza

DONNELLSON, Iowa – Five IMCA divisions will be featured each night of the Friday and Saturday, March 25 and 26 Spring Extravaganza at Lee County Speedway. Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods chase $1,000 top checks while IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks run for $500 to win and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $300. Modified features are 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers. Both nights will be draw/redraw and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded. Minimum start money is $100 for the Modifieds, $85 for Stock Cars and SportMods, $65 for Hobby Stocks and $50 for Sport Compacts. Arkansas Spring Nationals special starts season at Batesville

BATESVILLE, Ark. – Batesville Motor Speedway’s season-opening Arkansas Spring Nationals sports $1,000 to win features for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds Friday, March 25 and Saturday, March 26. A minimum of $100 will be paid to start the 24-car fields and both features are qualifying events for the 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. IMCA Speed­way Motors Weekly Racing Na­tional, Jet Racing Cen­tral Region, All­star Performance State and lo­cal track points will be awarded. There is no entry fee. Pit gates open at 4 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m., hot laps are at 7 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. Pit passes are $30. $3,000 is top prize for IMCA Modifieds at 85 Speedway opener 

ENNIS, Texas (March 17) – Winning the opening night Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature at 85 Speedway will pay a hefty $3,000. The Saturday, March 19 show is the first under the direction of new promoter Scotty Brown and all applicable points, including local track points, will be awarded. The Modified main event is a 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier. The runner-up earns $1,500 with $750 paid for third. A minimum of $100 will be paid to start the feature. Also on the card at Ennis are Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods, plus factory stocks, cruisers and lady cruisers. There is no entry fee but registration fee is $30. IMCA Hawkeye Dirt Tour finalized at a dozen events

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – The Hawkeye Dirt Tour now numbers 12 events, with the addition of Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified shows at Marshalltown Speedway, Dubuque Speed­way and the Clay County Fairgrounds at Spencer. The HDT joins the Deery Brothers Summer Series for Late Models for the first time at Mar­shalltown on Tuesday, June 7. SILVER BAY, Minn. (March 9) – The second year of IMCA.TV, the Official Network of IMCA Racing, kicks it up a notch with an impressive schedule of 50-plus races from all over the United States and Canada with a number available included in monthly and yearly subscriptions. A refresh of the service is set for May 23. The primary focus of the service will be hardcore IMCA racing coverage including full shows and feature races. $2,000 is top Modified prize at Tri-State Kegger special

POCOLA, Okla. – Top prize for the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds is $2,000 at Tri-State Speedway’s 37th annual Cecil Harlan Memorial Kegger this Friday and Saturday, March 18 and 19. Six states were represented by Modifieds entered at last year’s Kegger and an even bigger field is expected for the 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying event, which pays a minimum of $200 to start. SportMods race for $1,000 to win and $100 to start while first place in the Stock Car feature pays $800, with $80 to start. Total purse for the event is more than $29,000. Record 347 cars for Spring Nationals, Noteboom wins Saturday IMCA Modified feature at Beatrice

BEATRICE, Neb. (March 12) – The guy who had the best seat in the house pointed out that the Saturday night Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified main event at Beatrice Speedway’s record-setting Spring Nationals had to be fun for the fans, too. A record 347 cars, from 16 states and Canada, competed at the 23rd annual special and Jay Noteboom got the best of fellow hard chargers Dylan Smith and Terry Phillips in a three-wide Modified battle on Saturday that went to the wire following a late caution. Noteboom, who’d started 15th, was less than a car length ahead of the 13th starting Smith at the finish. Friday winner Phillips started 23rd and ended in third. Record-smashing car count for opening night at Spring Nationals 

BEATRICE, Neb. (March 11) – Record-breaking might not be descriptive enough for opening night of the 23rd annual Spring Nationals at Beatrice Speedway. The traditional season-opening special saw 313 cars in four IMCA divisions in action Friday, 39 more than last year. The new mark is guaranteed to go even higher with the addition of Mach-1 Sport Compacts to the Saturday program. By division, opening night at Beatrice featured 118 Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds, 85 Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, 57 IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and 53 IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. Friday feature winners were Terry Phillips in the Modifieds, Kyle Vanover in the Stock Cars, Greg Metz in the Northern SportMods and Cody Nielsen in the Hobby Stocks.
