IMCA Harris Clash set for Aug. 8 at Hamilton County Speedway

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa – Hamilton County Speedway plays host to the 26th annual Harris Clash on Tuesday, Aug. 8 when IMCA Modifieds and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods travel to Webster City. The 25-lap Modified main event pays $2,000 to win, a minimum of $250 to start and is a qualifier for the 2018 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Twenty-five cars start the Modified main. Tow money is $75. A 10-lap dash for cash, open to Modified winners on designated nights at 10 area tracks, returns to the Clash program and pays $500 to win and a minimum of $100 to take the green flag. Northern SportMods race for $1,000 to win and a minimum of $80 to start their 20-lapper. SportMod tow is $50. Clay County, Buena Vista Raceway host final IMCA Arnold Motor Supply Hawkeye Dirt Tour dates

SPENCER, Iowa – Their consistency has put Kelly Shryock and Joel Rust in the top two spots in point standings for the Arnold Motor Supply Hawkeye Dirt Tour. Both will be looking to earn the series championship when the IMCA Modified tour concludes with events on Monday, Aug. 7 at Clay County Fair Speedway in Spencer and Wednesday, Aug. 9 at Buena Vista Raceway in Alta. Shryock’s runner-up finish in the most recent tour feature at Dubuque put him back in first in the points race. The veteran from Fertile has finished outside the top five just once through the first seven tour events of the season while Rust owns four top-five showings. Round 2 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational voting is underway

BOONE, Iowa (July 31) – Round two of voting for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational is underway. The first 15 IMCA Modified drivers who will start the Sept. 8 event, during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s, were elected in regional balloting that concluded on July 27. All 116 drivers remaining on the ballot advance to the at-large second round, with the top 13 vote recipients moving added to the starting grid. Second-round voting ends on Aug. 3. All voting will again be conducted through the IMCA Facebook page. Completing the field for the 30-lapper at Boone Speedway will be All-Star candidates with the top national point total and the most 40-point feature wins as of Aug. 31 competing at Super Nationals.

All-Star drivers add to lengthy list of IMCA accomplishments

BOONE, Iowa (July 28) – The first 15 IMCA Modified drivers elected to start the 2017 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational bring an already lengthy list of accomplishments to the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Two-time defending race winner Jimmy Gustin, 2012 winner Jordan Grabouski and 2014 winner Kyle Strickler are among that elite group, announced this afternoon. Defending Super Nationals champion Ricky Thornton Jr. was the top vote getter. He’ll be joined in representing the Larry Shaw Racing Western Region by Ethan Dotson and Ricky Alvarado. Current national points leader William Gould, Dean Abbey and Matt Guillaume make the trip to Boone Speedway for the Sept. 8 event from the Razor Chassis South Central Region. Dubuque checkers make Kay first to repeat in IMCA Arnold Motor Supply Hawkeye Dirt Tour

DUBUQUE, Iowa (July 25) – Justin Kay’s drive to victory lane following the Arnold Motor Supply Hawkeye Dirt Tour feature at Dubuque Speedway started back home in the shop. Kay led the last 11 of 30 laps in winning the Tuesday IMCA Modified main event, on opening night of the county fair. The $1,200 tour victory was Kay’s career fourth, his second of the season and put him on the ballot for the 2018 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. “We made a bunch of changes in the shop. I didn’t feel I was very good at Oskaloosa or Knoxville,” said Kay, who had finished seventh and then fifth in the previous two tour events. “The car got a lot better. That was a big part of it. IMCA focused on best event in Super Nationals history

BOONE, Iowa – Drivers and fans won’t see a lot of changes in the facility or the format when they pull into Boone Speedway for the Sept. 4-9 IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. And IMCA President Brett Root believes that’s a good thing. “There are no race night changes. There were no major changes to the speedway since last year’s Super Nationals. This year we can focus on logistics and putting on the best event possible,” he said. “We are positioned to putting on the best event in the 35-year history of Super Nationals.” Southern SportMods joined the opening night card when they were added to the program last year and the Deery Brothers Summer Series for Late Models moved to Thursday. IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Nationals has early entries from 11 states

EAGLE, Neb. – Entries for the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Nationals are already in hand from 11 states. More than 100 drivers are anticipated to compete at the fifth annual event Aug. 31-Sept. 3 at Eagle Raceway. Sprint Nationals begins with an open house and practice on Thursday, Aug. 31. The starting field of 27 will be determined through qualifying on Sept. 1 and 2 and in last-chance qualifying on Sept. 3. Sunday’s main event pays $2,500 to win and a minimum $1,250 to start, plus a generous number of contingency awards. Friday and Saturday qualifying features both pay $700 to win while Saturday’s Jake Ita Memorial pays $1,000 to win and a minimum of $100 to start. 131 IMCA Modified drivers on ballot for Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational

BOONE, Iowa (July 22) – One hundred and thirty-one IMCA Modified drivers are on the ballot for the upcoming Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Twenty-eight of the 30 starters in the Sept. 8 race at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s at Boone Speedway will be elected in a pair of polling sessions. Three drivers from each of the five regions for IMCA Modifieds will be elected during polling from July 24-27; 13 more will be elected from an at-large pool between July 31 and Aug. 3. IMCA Arnold Motor Supply Hawkeye Dirt Tour tops opening night card at Dubuque County Fair

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Opening night of the Dubuque County Fair brings the Arnold Motor Supply Hawkeye Dirt Tour for IMCA Modifieds to town for a Tuesday, July 25 event. The Open Wheel Race Day show at Dubuque Speedway pays $1,200 to win and a minimum $150 to start. The feature is also a qualifier for the 2018 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.
