IMCA Modifieds headline Tri-State Speedway’s 38th annual Kegger 

POCOLA, Okla. – Top prize for IMCA Modifieds is $1,500 at Tri-State Speedway’s 38th annual Cecil Harlan Memorial Kegger Friday and Saturday, March 24 and 25. The 2017 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier pays a minimum of $200 to start. NASCAR veteran Ken Schrader will be among the competitors this weekend at Pocola. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Jet Racing Central Region and Allstar State points, but no local track points, will be given. Menasco Racing Enterprises gives a $500 bonus to the driver making the long tow. Entry fee is $100. Pit gates open at 4 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. and racing follows 6:30 p.m. hot laps both days. Adult grandstand admission is $10 on Friday and $12 on Saturday; kids ages 6-12 get in for $5 each night. Pit passes are $30 on Friday and $35 on Saturday. An open practice runs from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, March 23. Pit passes are $20 and grandstand admission is free. RPM’s 5th annual Sunflower Classic features five IMCA divisions

HAYS, Kan. – Five IMCA divisions are on the weekend card when RPM Speedway opens the 2017 sea­son with its fifth annual Sunflower Classic special this Friday and Saturday, March 24 and 25. IMCA Modifieds run for $1,000 to win each night and both features are qualifying events for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational bal­lot. Also running both nights are IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $750 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods both for $500 to win and Mach-1 Sport Com­pacts run for $200 to win. $1,000 to win IMCA Modified feature headlines Junction’s Mike Chapin Memorial Spring Thaw

McCOOL JUNCTION, Neb. (March 10) – IMCA Modified drivers run for $1,000 to win and a berth on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot on the second night of Junction Motor Speedway’s March 18-19 Mike Chapin Memorial Spring Thaw. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks are also on both Saturday and Sunday cards. Modifieds, Northern SportMods and Stock Cars get $350 to win, Hobby Stocks $300 on Saturday, Northern SportMods get $850, Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks both $700 to win on Sunday. United Rebel Sprint Series has 14 dates in four states 

OBERLIN, Kan. – The United Rebel Sprint Series will begin its 12th season of 305 Sprint Car Rac­ing featuring events in the four states, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Colorado in 2017. The Myers Racing Engines National tour will feature fourteen stops in all four states and will bring rac­ers together under the IMCA RaceSaver banner for the second season. The national points season kicks off April 1 with an appearance at Longdale, Okla., Speedway. The race features a $1,000 to win, minimum $250 to start purse. On May 13, the URSS Rebels will make the first of two national event stops at Colorado Motor Sports Park in Byers. IMCA Modifieds chase $1,250 checks at Batesville’s Arkansas Spring Nationals

BATESVILLE, Ark. – A pair of $1,250 to win features for IMCA Modifieds are on the card for the Friday and Saturday, March 17 and 18 Arkansas Spring Nationals at Batesville Motor Speedway. Both Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot-qualifying events pay $1,000 to the runner-up. Mini­mum start money is $150 and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Jet Racing Cen­tral Region, Allstar Performance State and track points will be awarded. Beatrice Spring Nationals moved forward one day

BEATRICE, Neb. (March 7) – Racing at the 24th annual IMCA Spring Nationals at Beatrice Speedway has been moved to Thursday and Friday, March 9 and 10. The open practice now runs from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, with the $500 to win Race of Champions for previous Modified winners at Spring Nationals set for 9:15 p.m. Hot laps will start at 5 p.m. with the first heat race at 6 p.m. both Thursday and Friday. Volatile weather forecasts are the reason for the change in schedule, promoter Toby Kruse said. The event will be broadcast live on Speed Shift TV. IMCA Modifieds begin hunt for Canyon Speedway Park title

By Tony Steele PEORIA, Ariz. – Through most of the winter racing at Canyon Speedway Park, it was the out-of-towners flexing their muscles in the premier IMCA Modified division. Jason Wolla swept both Winter Challenge events while Spencer Wilson and Hunter Marriott split victories during the Arizona Modified Tour. Marriott took another win in the preliminary night of the De­sert Classic until finally a local in Chaz Baca Jr. brought home a win for the Arizona boys as he took home $3,000 in the 40-lap Desert Classic feature. One of the largest storylines of the year at CSP will begin on Saturday, March 11 as the IMCA Modifieds start their season-long journey toward the crowning of a champion. IMCA Modifieds open Perris Auto Speedway season on Saturday

PERRIS, Calif. – Perris Auto Speedway will continue its opening nights this Saturday, March 11, when IMCA Modifieds take to the track for the first time in 2017. Sprint Series of Oklahoma opener set for March 25 at Ardmore 

By David Smith Jr. OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – In just three short weeks, the Sprint Series of Oklahoma will open its 2017 season at Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore on Saturday, March 25. This IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car event will also be race number two for the Sprint Series of Texas. Defending national and inaugural series champion Andy Shouse will be back to defend his crowns while series runner-up Joe Wood Jr., who fell just 21 points behind Shouse in the final series standings, looks to garner championship honors this season. IMCA Modifieds race March 9, 10 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The half-mile Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway hosts a pair of $750 to win events for IMCA Modifieds next Thursday and Friday, March 9 and 10. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Racing Western Region and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded both nights. Features pay a minimum of $75 to start with $50 paid to non-qualifiers. There is a $20 entry fee each night. RACEceivers and transponders are required.
