Junction Motor Speedway to host Sept. 15, 16 Nunnenkamp Memorial

McCOOL JUNCTION, Neb. – Five IMCA divisions are in action during Junction Motor Speedway’s Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 15-16 Barb Nunnenkamp Memorial McCool 100. IMCA Modifieds race for $775 to win both nights, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods for $675, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $525 and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $500. Mach-1 Sport Compacts chase a top check of $200 on Sunday. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Nebraska State points will be awarded both days. Entry fees are $70 for Modifieds, $60 for Northern SportMods, $50 for Stock Cars and $40 for Hobby Stocks; entry fees postmarked after Sept. 12 are $90 for Modifieds, $80 for Northern SportMods, $70 for Stock Cars, $60 for Hobby Stocks and $20 for Sport Compact. Rob Brillhart

The Prelude marked the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car debut for Crystal, Mich., driver Rob Brillhart. Brillhart bought the 2016 B & B Chassis out of Jackson, Minn., two weeks ago. The pro stock track champion this season at I-96 Speedway will put a check next to Super Nationals when Stock Car qualifying starts on Wednesday. “This is a dream come true. What more could you do than come to Super Nationals?” he asked. Learning on the fly, Brillhart was loose in Prelude hot laps, threw a street stock setup on his new ride and went to “oh boy” tight. While he’s a rookie in the class, Brillhart already shares the same dream as all the veterans of America’s Racin’ Vacation. “We’ve seen the lap times we wanted,” he said. “Being in the Saturday night field would be the ultimate.”

Hobby Stock, SportMod qualifying starts today, Deery Series program at Boone moved to Thursday

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 3) – Qualifying races for Hobby Stocks and Northern SportMods are on the schedule for Labor Day at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. All start times will remain the same. The complete Deery Brothers Summer Series for Late Models program will move to Thursday, Sept. 6. That’s a switch also made several years ago, which will accommodate race schedules for both days, and with an improved forecast and pit parking. Setting the stage for 36th annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s, 285 cars in four divisions saw Prelude action at Boone Speedway. Defending Super Nationals champion Richie Gustin, already on the 2019 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot, won the Modified feature and $1,000. BOONE, Iowa – The hottest ticket in town on Saturday, Sept. 1 will be for the Wild Rose Casino & Resort Prelude to the IMCA Super Nationals presented by Mediacom at Boone Speedway. IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win and a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth that evening. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars chase a $500 top check, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods race for $400 to win and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks race for $250 to win. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Iowa State points will be awarded, as will Side Biter Chassis North Central Region points for Modifieds, EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region points for Stock Cars and Big Daddy Race Cars Northern Region points for Hobby Stocks. Snyder Salute set for Sept. 1-2 at Southern Oregon Speedway

By Don Martin II WHITE CITY, Ore. – It’s time once again for the second annual R. Charles Snyder Salute for IMCA Modifieds at Southern Oregon Speedway. The two-race weekend will again feature the IMCA Modifieds with a $5,000 to win, Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot-qualifying prize being offered on Sunday, Sept. 2. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Southern Oregon Dwarf Cars will compete Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 1 and 2. The format calls for two sets of heat races for both Modified and SportMod divisions on Saturday that will score finishing points and passing points to determine the drivers who make the main event on Sunday and who will end up in ‘B’ and ‘C’ features. The top eight point runners in the heat races will redraw for their main event starting positions. RaceSaver Nationals pre-entries come from 14 states

EAGLE, Neb. – Fourteen states are represented by the 117 drivers pre-entered for the Aug. 30-Sept. 2 RaceSaver Nationals at Eagle Raceway. The winner of Sunday’s main event for IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars goes home with a minimum of $2,500, plus a bonus of as much as $1,500, $30 for each of as many as 50 sanctioned starts going into the holiday weekend. Qualifying features on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 both pay $700 to win while the top prize for Saturday’s Jake Ita Memorial race is $1,000. Taking the green in Sunday’s big show pays a minimum of $1,250. PEORIA, Ariz. (Aug. 27) – A pair of $1,000 to win IMCA Modified features are on the docket for Canyon Speedway Park’s Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 1 and 2 Labor Day Weekend special. Both 25-lap events are qualifiers for the 2019 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot and pay a minimum of $100 to start. Entry fee each night is $25. Racing resumes Saturday at Ventura

VENTURA, Calif. – After being off for three and a half weeks due to the county fair, Ventura Raceway returns to action on Saturday, Aug. 25. IMCA Modifieds are back after 22 cars showed up at the fair when Danny Lauer took win in front of a sold-out crowd. Donald Houghton is the current points leader with Luis Espinoza close behind in second and Trevor Fitz right behind in third.
