Colorado Alliance Tour comes to Calhan for El Paso County Raceway opener

CALHAN, Colo. – Five IMCA divisions are on the Saturday, April 24 race night card, when the Colorado Alliance Tour comes to town for the season opening show at El Paso County Raceway. The second CAT weekend of the season brings IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts to Calhan. Pit gates open at 1 p.m., the grandstand opens at 3 p.m. and racing starts at 5 p.m.

URSS starts season Saturday at Dodge City

DODGE CITY, Kan. – Last week’s originally scheduled season opener at 81 Speedway for the Drive to Zero POWRi United Rebel Sprint Series presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing was postponed due to inclement weather. As a result, the season is now slated to kick off this Saturday, April 24 at Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, Kan. The 3/8-mile semi-banked clay oval opens this year under new management. Long-time Sprint Car driver Craig Dollansky and his team have devoted hours of time and enhancements to the facility leading up to the season. A great field of cars is expected as drivers and teams look forward to racing under the new improvements and promoter. PASS joins Open Wheel Madness at Port Royal

PORT ROYAL, Pa. – The Pennsylvania Sprint Series will be a part of Open Wheel Madness Saturday, April 24 at Port Royal Speedway. It’s the first of three Madness shows for PASS IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car teams; the others will be July 17 and Aug. 21. PASS will run a 20-lap feature each night at the Juniata County Speed Palace. This weekend’s show will be the second of 11 scheduled for PASS at Port Royal this season. ‘Nitro’ Nick Sweigart took the first on April 3. In the COVID-abbreviated 2020 season, PASS raced at the Port seven times, with Garrett Bard winning four of those events on his way to series, KMJ Performance State and IMCA RaceSaver National titles; he also was Port Royal track champ. Sweigart captured two wins and Derek Hauck won once. Perris Auto Speedway grand re-opening this Saturday

This Saturday night, April 17, Perris Auto Speedway will re-open its doors after more than a year off due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The show will feature IMCA Modifieds in a 25-lap, $1,500 to win Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying event. That will be the standard winner’s purse for 11 of the 12 PASSCAR/IMCA shows in 2021. The only race with different winner’s purses will be on the 25th anniversary Fan Appreciation Night on Oct. 16. WICHITA, Kan. – The Drive to Zero POWRi United Rebel Sprint Series Presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing is slated to kick off its 16th season this Saturday, April 17. IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car Competitors will head to 81 Speedway in Wichita, Kan., for the first race of a brimming 32-event schedule in 2021. Racing starts at 7 p.m. Heading into a fresh season, competition is slated to be at its best in 2021. Coming off a slow start and off-schedule year due to restrictions throughout the country last year, the United Rebel Sprint Series looks ahead to the $1,000 to win season opener on Saturday. Free grandstand admission for Friday Oil Capital show at Outlaw Motor Speedway

By John Rittenoure TULSA, Okla. – Friday night will be a night to remember for AmeriFlex Oil Capital Racing Series IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car fans. Outlaw Motor Speedway will host a complete night of racing and grandstand admission free. The April 16 feature winner will earn $1,000 with a $250 minimum paid to start. Heat race winners will earn $100. Five different winners, among them Joe Bob Lee, Johnny Kent, 2018 champion Alex Sewell, Noah Harris and Steven Shebester, have produced a balanced field coming into Friday night’s show. Thunderbird opens with Fast Shafts All-Star qualifier

MUSKEGON, Mich. – Opening night at Thunderbird Raceway features a $1,000 to win main event for IMCA Modifieds. The Saturday, April 17 headliner is a qualifier for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot and is presented by Sprague Auto Parts. Gates open at 3 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 4:30 p.m. Hot laps start at 5 p.m. with racing at 6:30 p.m. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $5 for kids ages 6-11 and free for five and under. Battle Mountain doubleheader next for IMCA Wild West Tour

BATTLE MOUNTAIN, Nev. – After making a first-ever trip to Arizona for its season-opening doubleheader, the IMCA Pitt Stop Motorsports Wild West Tour travels to a more familiar racing locale this weekend. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods are on Friday, April 16 and Saturday, April 17 cards at Nevada’s Battle Mountain Raceway. Modifieds race for $1,000 to win Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying features both nights. Stock Cars and Northern SportMods both race for $750 to win, with top money in the Stock Car features upped to $1,000 with 30 or more entries. TIPTON, Iowa – IMCA Sunoco Late Models are on the Saturday Spring Fling card at Cedar County Raceway, racing for $1,000 to win. The April 10 feature at Tipton pays $100 to start with IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and KMJ Performance State points to be awarded. Entry fee is $20 and pit passes are $35.
