Kay seeks third straight checkers at Independence Deery

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (July 30) – Point leader Justin Kay has already won three times this sea­son to match his 2013 Deery Brothers Summer Series total. He’ll try to equal his personal best of three straight feature wins when the IMCA Late Model tour travels to Independence Motor Speedway next Wednesday, Aug. 6. Kay won for the first time in his brief Deery career at Independence last year, then followed with wins at Davenport and West Liberty. He won at East Moline this May, then again on July 8 at West Liberty and July 13 at Dubuque. The upcoming feature at Independence pays $3,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. Payouts get boost for IMCA Great Plains Series at Dawson County

LEXINGTON, Neb. (July 29) – A bigger purse has been announced for the eighth installment of the Dirt Track Central Jax Sports Grille Great Plains Series. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars now race for $1,300 to win and a minimum of $100 to start the Sunday, Aug. 3 main event at Dawson County Raceway. An anonymous donor added $1,000 to the main event purse for the Ethanol Night program; another $1,000 in bonuses has been added to the pole dash, boosting the total payout for the draw/redraw show to more than $6,000. The top 12 from the heats will transfer and draw for their starting position in the 10-lap pole dash. Full program tonight at Thunderhill Raceway

By Edward Anschutz STURGEON BAY, Wis. (July 30) – A full program is on slate for tonight (Wednesday) at Thunderhill Raceway. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Street Stocks will be in action beginning at 6:30 p.m. start time. The Door County Fair show is being treated as a regular night and is a track point night. Lineups will be set by point average. The night will also count towards the $30,000 contingency program. EAST MOLINE, Ill. – Quad City Speedway hosts its ninth annual Ronnie Weedon Memorial on Sunday, Aug. 3, with a $1,000 to win, minimum $150 to start feature for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds. Sponsored by J & J Camper Sales, the draw/redraw event is a qualifier for the 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. LOVELOCK, Nev. – Both IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods will be featured during the second annual City Auto Parts/NAPA Know How 40 special Friday and Saturday, Aug. 1 and 2 at Lovelock Speedway. Modifieds run for $500 to win on opening night and for a top prize of $1,000 in their 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier on Saturday. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Racing Western Region, Allstar Performance State and local track points will be awarded each night. Cottage Grove reschedules Wild West Modified Series to Thursday

By Ben Deatherage COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (July 23) – The races for Wednesday, July 23rd at Cottage Grove Speedway have been canceled due to weather. A storm that recently came through soaked the pit area as well as the race track which prevented any action taking place. However, the race has been rescheduled for Thursday, July 24 and will consist of the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds and hornets. The Wild West Modified Series feature pays $1,000 to win. Front gates open at 4 p.m. and racing starts at approximately 6:45 p.m.

ELY, Nev. (July 23) – Great Basin Raceway is the next destination for the EQ Cylinder Heads Wild West Tour. Traveling IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds race for $1,000 to win in their Friday, July 25 and Saturday, July 26 features at Ely. Both events are qualifiers for the 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Willamette gears up for weekend shows

LEBANON, Ore. – This Friday, July 25 and Saturday, July 26, Willamette Speedway hosts some of the best racing around. Both evenings will feature IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds as they wrap up the Wild West Modified Speedweek and the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series. The IMCA Modified race on Saturday will be the best paying to win all week as the main event winner earns a cool $2,000. Other contingencies are in the works also and will be announced soon. Dacotah Speedway to host Governor’s Cup July 25, 26

MANDAN, N.D. – Dacotah Speedway’s 24th annual Governor’s Cup special boasts a $1,600 paycheck for the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified winner, along with a berth on the ballot for the 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Mach-1 Sport Compacts are also on the Friday and Saturday, July 25-26 cards. They’ll race for $200 to win. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded in both divisions. Modifieds also run for Belleville Motorsports North Central Region points. The Modified feature pays a minimum of $200 to start and $100 to non-qualifiers, with a $50 registration fee. Start money for the Sport Compacts is $50 with a $20 registration. Hancock County Fair payout is potential $5K for IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winner

BRITT, Iowa – A check for as much as $5,000 goes home with the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature winner at the Hancock County Fair special this Friday, July 25. First place is worth a minimum of $4,000 with another $1,000 added if the first-place driver has perfect weekly attendance at Britt this season. The runner-up earns $2,000 with $1,000 for third. A minimum of $200 will be made to start the main event and tow money is $100. Twenty-four cars will qualify and the starting grid will be filled with two sponsor provisionals.
