Three IMCA Modified features at Aug. 29-31 East-West Clash

GILLETTE, Wyo. (Aug. 25) – Three $1,000 to win features for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds are on the program for Gillette Thunder Speedway’s 15th annual East-West Clash Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 29-31. All are 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying events and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Racing Western Region and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded. Entry fees are $50 on Friday, $65 on Saturday and $75 on Sunday. Pit passes are $25 on Friday and Saturday, $30 on Sunday or $75 for all three days. TIPTON, Iowa – The Deery Brothers Summer Se­ries and XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour both make much-anticipated returns to Cedar County Raceway next Tuesday, Aug. 19. IMCA Late Models run for $3,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start while IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds contend in a $1,000 to win, minimum $150 to start feature. Iowa State Fair show is next for Deery Brothers Summer Series

DES MOINES, Iowa – Touring IMCA Late Models travel to Des Moines for their next Deery Brothers Summer Series show, during the Iowa State Fair. The Monday, Aug. 11 main event at the Iowa State Fairgrounds Speedway pays $3,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. Justin Kay of Wheatland brings the point lead to town for the ninth of 15 events on the 2014 schedule. Gates open at 3 p.m., the grandstand opens at 4:30 p.m. and racing follows 5:30 p.m. hot laps. Murray County, Arlington dates are next for Redline Racing Parts North Star Series

SLAYTON, Minn. – Dates at Murray County Speedway in Slayton and Arlington Raceway this weekend make up the only doubleheader of the season for the Redline Racing Parts North Star Series. Murray County hosts touring IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts on Friday, Aug. 8. The same five divisions are in action on Saturday, Aug. 9 at Arlington. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. at Slayton. Racing follows 7:15 p.m. hot laps. IMCA Modified stars shine at high-paying Hancock County specials

BRITT, Iowa – IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified stars shine at two of the top-paying special events of the season on back-to-back nights at Hancock County Speedway. The 20th annual Night of 1,000 Stars on Thursday, Aug. 7 pays as much as $9,000 and a minimum of $3,500 to win. And on Friday, Aug. 8, the second annual Night of 10,000 Stars boasts a potential payout of $10,000 and a guaranteed $7,000 to the winner. Both Modified features are 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers and will be 50 laps. Fireworks follow each night’s race program. Rooks County Speedway hosts Aug. 13, 14 fair races

By Mike Hughes STOCKTON, Kan. – Rooks County Speedway in Stockton, Kan., will host races during the Rooks County Fair on Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 13-14. Sanctioned IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks will be in action both nights. It will be a complete show each night. Tonight’s Deery Series event in Independence is canceled

By Ryan Clark INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (Aug. 6) – With wet weather in the area and an increased threat of rain later this afternoon into the evening, officials have canceled tonight’s Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA Late Models event at Independence Motor Speedway. The event, which was also rained out on its original date of July 1, will not be made up. “The weather has affected us all year and tonight is no different,” said promoter Darin Burco of S&B Promotions. “It isn’t a decision we wanted to make,” he continued, “but it’s one we don’t take lightly.” With an increased chance for rain in Independence around the time hot laps were scheduled to start, Burco said the last thing he wanted to do is force people to drive from all over the state just to get rained out with no make-up date available. “We’ve talked to meteorologists who tell us the track of the weather will change and we’ll get wet around 6 p.m.,” he said. “I used to race the Deery Series and [Read More]

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (Aug. 4) – Saturday, August 9 marks the final race in the Gandrud Chevrolet Red, White & Blue Series at 141 Speedway. The series will award over $10,000 in contingencies to the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, along with IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Belleville Motorsports North Central Regional, Allstar Performance State and track points. TONOPAH, Nev. – A pair of $1,000 to win features for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds top the Friday and Saturday, Aug. 8 and 9 program for Tonopah Speedway’s Jim Marsh Classic. Both events are qualifiers for the 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.
