Maquoketa Speedway opening with All Star Night

By Jerry Mackey  MAQUOKETA, Iowa (April 11, 2023) – The Maquoketa Speedway is set to host the first race of the 2023 season which will be All Star Night. Darkside Promotions (Tim Current and Ryan Duhme) will be working in conjunction with the Jackson County Fair Board and track manager Bret Sieverstein to present a special event to kick off the new season. Racing will include greatly enhanced purses for all classes in competition on the very quick ¼-mile dirt track, located on the Jackson County Fairgrounds in Maquoketa, on Saturday, April 15.  Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. IMCA Modifieds, Northern SportMods headline Ice Breaker Challenge shows 

EAGLE, Neb. (April 11, 2023) – Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods are on both race night cards, with bonus money waiting for drivers in either division who can sweep Eagle Raceway’s Ice Breaker Challenge Weekend.  Modifieds run for $1,000 to win on Friday, April 14 and for $2,000 to win on Saturday, April 15 while Northern SportMods chase $500 top checks both nights. A Twice is Nice Challenge bonus of $1,000 goes to the driver(s) who can win both their main events. Modified winners earn Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility as well.  IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $2,000 to win and B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational eligibility, while IMCA Sunoco Late Models vie for $600 to win on Friday. Spring Nationals this weekend at US 36

Spring Nationals are set for this Friday, April 14 featuring IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites.  Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and the grandstands open at 6 p.m., with hot laps at 7:30 p.m. and racing to follow.

IMCA Stock Car crown is worth $5,000 at Marshalltown’s King of the Highbanks 

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (April 6, 2023) – The IMCA Sunoco Stock Car king or queen taking the checkers at Marshalltown Speedway’s April 13 and 14 King of the Highbanks takes home $5,000. Along with that big check and bragging rights, the winner of the finale next Friday night at Marshalltown also earns a guaranteed starting spot in the third annual B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational field. Weekend shows at 34 Raceway feature three IMCA divisions

WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (April 5, 2023) – Three IMCA divisions see their first action of 2023 at 34 Raceway this Friday and Saturday. April 7 and 8 features for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds both pay $750 to win and a minimum of $125 to start. Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods race for $500 to win and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts for $250 to win each night. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Iowa State points will be given each night. Modifieds also earn Razor Chassis North Central Region points.  Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:15 p.m. with racing to follow both evenings, as the IMCA divisions are joined at West Burlington by 410 Sprint Cars.  Spectator admission is $25 for adults, $22 for seniors and students, and free for kids 10 and under. Trying again, PASS heads to Port Royal this Saturday 

By Frank Buhrman PORT ROYAL, Pa. (April 4, 2023) – The anticipation was already sky high. Now it’s much higher. Foiled by Mother Nature in its effort to get the season started last weekend, the River Valley Builders Pennsylvania Sprint Series re-charges and heads to Port Royal Speedway this Saturday for its Silver Anniversary inaugural race. The IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car portion of the program will include qualifying events and a 20-lap feature. Nearly a week before the race, 35 drivers had already indicated their intentions of racing, including nine of the top 10 from 2022 points. They include runner-up Austin Reed, third-finishing Doug Dodson, fourth-finishing and two-time former champ Ken Duke and fifth-finishing Kruz Kepner.  Dodson was a Port winner in last season’s PASS opener at the track, and Duke scored the first of his two Port wins four years ago this weekend. IMCA Modifieds, Late Models, SportMods go Topless to open 60th season at Eagle 

EAGLE, Neb. (March 24, 2023) – Promoter Roger Hadan wasn’t fooling when he said he wanted to do something that hadn’t been done for a long time to start the 60th anniversary season at Eagle Raceway.  The first green flag of the season at Eagle flies for the inaugural Topless Nationals Saturday, April 1. (March 24, 2023) – RPM Speedway starts the 2023 race season with the traditional Mike Hughes Sunflower Classic on March 31 and April 1.  Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds run for $1,000 to win, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $750 each night. Both Friday and Saturday features are qualifying events for Fast Shafts All-Star or B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitationals.  IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod features both pay $500 to win, Mach-1 Sport Compact features $200. Arkansas Spring Nationals March 24, 25 bring IMCA Modifieds, Stocks to Batesville

BATESVILLE, Ark. (March 14, 2023) – Checks for $1,500 and All-Star eligibility are at stake for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars both nights of Batesville Motor Speedway’s Friday and Saturday, March 24-25 Arkansas Spring Nationals. The 2023 lidlifter is presented by IMCA.TV, which broadcasts both race nights. Modified winners earn Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility while Stock Car winners become eligible to qualify for the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational. Muscatine Mall to host pre-season race car show

By Jerry Mackey MUSCATINE, Iowa (March 13, 2023) – The 2023 racing season In Eastern Iowa is just around the corner and the Muscatine Mall will be hosting a pre-season race car show to rev up the enthusiasm for the season in our area. Drivers from around the area will have their shiny new 2023 race cars on display in the Muscatine Mall starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 18. Race fans of all ages will have the opportunity to see the cars up close and will meet the drivers and crews and can ask all about their race teams and get autographs. In addition to over 20 race cars on display, several racing go karts will also be on display. Area race tracks will be represented and have schedules and special event information available.
