Three Key City Challenge dates at Dubuque for IMCA Late Models

DUBUQUE, Iowa (Feb. 6, 2024) – IMCA Sunoco Late Models will have three opportunities to take home $2,500 this season in Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway’s Key City Challenge. Late Model features on Sundays, April 28, June 23 and Aug. 18 all tote big checks for drivers pre-registered by April 28. “This was an idea one of our Late Model drivers, Luke Merfeld, had. He wanted to help promote our track and the sport of racing. Luke contacted and recruited sponsors to make this series possible. Abilene hosts 30th annual IMCA.TV Ice Breaker Feb. 16-17

ABILENE, Texas (Jan. 26, 2024) – Rob Poor was racing a Friesen Performance IMCA Modified in the early days of Ice Breaker at Abilene Speedway. He’ll promote the 30th annual event, one of the longest continuously running specials in the GRT Race Cars South Central Region and in all of IMCA, Feb. 16 and 17. Maquoketa Speedway host car show and swap meet, awards ceremony 

By Jerry Mackey MAQUOKETA, Iowa (Jan. 25, 2024) – On Saturday, Feb. 3, Maquoketa Speedway will host the second annual pre-season race car show and racers’ swap meet The event will be held on the Jackson County Fairgrounds located on the east side of Maquoketa. Doors will open to the public at 9 a.m. and several of the drivers who will be competing regularly at Maquoketa Speedway in 2024 will have their race-ready cars on display. CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (Jan. 25, 2024) – Four IMCA divisions see action each night of the inaugural Arizona IMCA Tour. Diamond Park hosts second annual 94M Memorial: Caleb’s Legacy on Oct. 7

CJ Speedway set to host two big nights of racing

By Jerry Mackey COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (Sept. 19, 2023) – CJ Speedway, located on the Louisa County Fairgrounds in Columbus Junction, is set to host a racing doubleheader this weekend, Sept. 22 and 23. Friday night, the Battle on the Levee that was originally scheduled to be held during the Louisa County Fair will be held with all drivers gunning for a greatly expanded purse thanks to a very long list of great sponsors. This race was postponed due to the excessive heat that hit Southeast Iowa late in July. Friday night’s racing program will highlight the five divisions of race cars that compete weekly at CJ Speedway. All five classes race under the IMCA banner. Format for Pettit Shootout released, IMCA Modifieds to race 103 laps

(Sept. 15, 2023) – Details have been unveiled for the prestigious 13th annual Pat and Jim Pettit Memorial Shootout on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 29 and 30 from Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, Calif. The annual event pays tribute to the parents of Hall of Famer Jim Pettit II and features Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods racing in complete programs each night at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds dirt track. The main event is Saturday’s 103-lap IMCA Modified blockbuster, paying $3,006 to win and $206 to start. SportMods race for $1,006 to win that evening. Lincoln, Bedford this Saturday and Sunday for PASS

(Aug. 11, 2023) – Two tracks with long but very different histories of River Valley Builders Pennsylvania Sprint Series competition make their only 2023 appearances on the schedule this weekend. Lincoln Speedway will be the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car teams’ destination Saturday night, and on Sunday night the action moves west to Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway, for a co-sanctioned event with the Laurel Highlands Sprint Series.  Both tracks hosted their first PASS race 20 years ago. Lincoln will run exactly 20 years and five weeks after its first appearance, and Bedford will host the sprinters two days shy of exactly 20 years since the first show. It needs to be noted, however, that Lincoln hosted the Virginia Sprint Series, the oldest of all RaceSaver regional groups, before its first PASS race. In the years since, Lincoln has been a regular on the PASS schedule, typically with either one or two races. VINTON, Iowa (Aug. 8, 2023) – Although the rain won last weekend, racing will resume Sunday, August 13 at Benton County Speedway with the rescheduled Racing for Autism / Bald Tire Bash August. Racing for Autism, presented by Every Piece Matters, is the theme for the August 13 show and a $2,000 winner’s share will be up for grabs in the second annual Bald Tire Bash for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars presented by Christie Door Company. The Stock Car special, which is draw/redraw and pays $200 to start the 50-lap A main, will require a tread depth of no more than 5/32” on all four tires. IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars take on Front Row Challenge next Monday

OSKALOOSA, Iowa (July 31, 2023) – IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars will run for $1,000 to win, a minimum of $200 to start and an array of contingency awards next Monday, Aug. 7 when Southern Iowa Speedway hosts the 28th annual Sage Fruit Front Row Challenge. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Iowa State points will be awarded.
