Batesville opens with inaugural IMCA Wimp Reed Spring Nationals

BATESVILLE, Ark. (March 12, 2024) – Batesville Motor Speedway remembers a former driver and tech inspector and two IMCA divisions get top billing during both nights of the inaugural Wimp Reed Spring Nationals.

Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $1,500 to win and a minimum of $200 to start Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30 features at Batesville.

Also at stake is Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational and B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. Tow is $50 and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Jet Racing Central and EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Regional and Arkansas State points will be given.

The Classic Collision High Point Award pays $500 to divers with top point totals for the two-day event. Days Inn by Wyndham gives $100 hard charger awards each night in both divisions and McSheer Truck’In gives $150 longest haul awards, also in both divisions. 

Entry fee is $50 each night and pit passes are $20 for the Thursday practice and $35 on Friday and Saturday. Grandstand admission is $10 on Friday and $15 on Saturday.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m., hot laps are at 6:45 p.m. and racing is at 7:30 p.m. T

Reed raced at Batesville for 18 years becoming a track official. His car number was 31 and all features will be 31 laps.

The Wimp Reed Spring Nationals will be broadcast by IMCA.TV. Factory stocks and Midwest modifieds also run both nights at Batesville.
