Reynolds, Bennett, Zemo all score first W’s of season at Marshalltown

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (June 30, 2023) – It was Minute Man Printing Night at the Karl Auto Group Marshalltown Speedway on Friday and three drivers all saw local checkers for the first time this season. Kaden Reynolds took the checkers in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Solomon Bennett won in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mike Zemo Jr. saw his first victory lane at the speedway in the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites. Joel Rust returned to the winner’s circle in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and it was Brayton Carter with his second win of the season in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods.   SportMods kicked off the feature racing with their 20-lap main event. 2023 Prelude to the Super Nationals

Registration opens July 1 for IMCA Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa (June 30, 2023) – IMCA drivers can begin making their reservations for the biggest event in all of dirt track racing on July 1. Registration opens Saturday for the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s at Boone Speedway Sept. 4-9. Modified, Stock Car, Hobby Stock, Northern SportMod, Sport Compact, Late Model and Mod Lite drivers must register online. Knutson pockets $500 on RFB Electric Night at the Races.

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (June 23, 2023) – Eric Knutson was electrifying on RBF Electric Night at the Races Friday at the Karl Auto Group Marshalltown Speedway. Knutson went home $500 richer after winning the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature, starting 11th, taking the lead before midway and never looking back the rest of the 20-lapper. He finished well ahead of last week’s winner Calvin Dhondt who raced from 12th starting, Corey Van Der Wilt, Zach McNeese and John Watson.  Jake McBirnie made it two in a row in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Jay Schmidt won for the second time in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars.  It was Jarrett Franken taking the checkers in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods, Josh May took the win for the third consecutive week in the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites and Kolby Sabin won in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. Furrell is IMCA Mod Lite star at US 36

By Rick Staley OSBORN, Mo. (June 23, 2023) – Tyler Furrell was the Friday night star at US 36 Raceway, recording his career first Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lite feature win. Furrell and James Beebe got out front at the drop of the green. Justin Raffurty challenged the front pair but neither were shaken and continued to battle up front as the always fast Dillon Raffurty made his march forward. As the laps wound down, Furrell continued to hold off all challengers and picked up his first-ever feature win with two-time defending national champion Dillon Raffurty a close second. Beebe showed a lot of speed in a solid third place showing with Michael Raffurty and Justin Raffurty completing the top five.

Mod Lites of Arkansas checkers to Vowan at Crowley’s Ridge Racing For the Paws event

PARAGOULD, Ark. (June 17, 2023) – Bryce Vowan won the inaugural Mod Lites of Arkansas Racing For The Paws event at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway. Making their first ever visit to Crowley’s Ridge, the MLA kicked off the night’s festivities helping raise much-needed pet food, supplies and kitty litter for the Greene County Animal Farm. Racers and fans donated a truckload of supplies to the shelter, located near the Paragould track. With 28 Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites on hand from Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Illinois and Tennessee, fans got to see the many of the top stars of the division attempt tackle Trent Francis’ Crowley’s Ridge Raceway. July 1 deadline for IMCA rookie of the year applications

VINTON, Iowa (June 21, 2023) – Eligible drivers who have not already done so have until 4:30 p.m. CST Saturday, July 1 to run for rookie of the year. IMCA names national Modified, Late Model, Sprint Car, Stock Car, Hobby Stock, Mod Lite, Northern and Southern SportMod, and Sport Compact rookies of the year and regional Modified, Stock Car and Hobby Stock rookies of the year. Drivers who have not raced 10 or more times in their respective divisions and meet all other eligibility requirements who did not indicate rookie status when filling out their 2023 IMCA license application can call the home office at 310 472-2201 extension 215 or email Director of Points and Membership Virginia Lindsey at vlindsey@imca.com. Speedway Motors is among the IMCA sponsors giving awards to rookie competitors again this season, presenting $100 gift cards to those drivers following career-first feature wins. Make-up feature wins to Logue and Fye before Mother Nature comes calling at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (June 17, 2023) – Make-up features for last week’s rain out at Boone Speedway were completed before Mother Nature spoiled the rest of the night’s festivities Saturday evening. These were run before the regular weekly show began. Johnathon Logue won the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature and it was Aron Fye taking top honors in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Both features went flag to flag. The Stock Cars ran their 20-lap make up feature first and Logue led all but the opening laps.  He got around Lonnie Hodges on lap six and then went on to claim the top spot the rest of the way to the checkers.
