Thursday Night Thunder wins to Rust, Murty, Kuehl, Filloon, Brown, and Grady

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (July 11, 2024) – It was KIX 101.1 Thursday Night Thunder at the Marshalltown Speedway on a Central Iowa Fair hot and humid night, instead of their usual Friday night show. The IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars were running for a $1,000 payday and it was Dallon Murty taking home that prize. Joel Rust returned to victory lane in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Taylor Kuehl bested the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods. A first-time winner ever at Marshalltown was Dustin Filloon in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Charlie Brown had the field covered in the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites and Cristian Grady got his second win of the year in the IMCA Mach-1 Sport Compacts. Fifteen laps of Mod Lite racing kicked off the night’s feature events. Shute, Roberts, Sachau, Ullrich, Brown beat Mother Nature at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (July 6, 2024) – Boone Speedway was back in action on Saturday night for their weekly racing series with 161 cars checking in for some fun. Thanks to Sauerman Trucking, all heat winners got $50. Storm clouds were in every direction, but no rain fell. Todd Shute nabbed his second feature win of the year in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Nick Roberts made it to victory lane for the first time in taking the checkers in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars.  It was Jake Sachau seeing the winner’s circle for his first regular season victory in the Friesen Performance Northern SportMods after just winning at the Eve of Destruction on July 4 in a non-track points race.  Making it to victory lane for the first-time ever at Boone was second generation racer Dayton Ullrich in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Charlie Brown was an easy winner of the IMCA Stealth STARS Mod Lites. Thornton is extremely good on Xtream Night at Marshalltown

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (July 5, 2024) –  It was Xtream Powered by Mediacom Night at the Marshalltown Speedway on Friday night, along with Iron Horse Aviation giving some a different perspective of the races from high above with helicopter rides. A strong field of 134 cars checked in to entertain fans who saw Dylan Thornton capture his first local feature in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified division. Austin Kaplan also took his first trip to victory lane in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. Matt Avila looked strong with his win in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and Bradly Graham got his first weekly win in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Jason Masengarb snagged feature win number two on the year in the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites, and Mitchell Bunch made it two in a row in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. Mueller, Burg are best at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (June 29, 2024) – It was a full night of racing entertainment for the fans at Boone Speedway on Saturday night, with 183 cars packing the pits. Repeat wins went to Jake McBirnie in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, Matt Avila in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods, and Travis Stensland in the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites.  First-time winners were Jeff Mueller in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Andrew Burg in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Things got off to a great start with the flag-to-flag running of the 15 lap feature for Mod Lites. Polesitter Jamie Bailey led the opening lap but Cliff Barber took over when lap two went into the books.  By lap eight, it was eighth place starter Stensland who was captain of the ship.  When Stensland got the lead, he drove off from the rest of the field and scored the easy win. Barber was a distant runner up, followed by Austin Gray in third. IMCA Super Nationals registration opens July 15

BOONE, Iowa (June 28, 2024) – IMCA drivers in seven divisions can make all their reservations for the 42nd annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s beginning July 15. Modified, Stock Car, Hobby Stock, Northern SportMod, Sport Compact, Late Model and Mod Lite drivers must register online for the Sept. 2-7 Super Nationals at Boone Speedway. Links to driver registration, pit stall reservations and camping forms are at www.imcasupernationals.com. “Reservations for camping spots are already being taken,” noted IMCA President Brett Root. “The driver registration and pit stall reservation processes are less labor intensive since they were switched to online only, so we feel comfortable starting those in mid-July.” Drivers must have a valid 2024 IMCA license and are required to register for Super Nationals before reserving a pit stall(s). VINTON, Iowa (June 27, 2024) – Another 59 IMCA rookie drivers have raced to career-first feature wins this season, earning a $50 gift card from Speedway Motors for taking those checkers. All nine divisions sanctioned by IMCA were represented by the latest group of rookie winners, at 39 different tracks in 21 states.
