New link connects drivers to IMCA contingency awards

VINTON, Iowa (March 6, 2024) – A few clicks on the keyboard is all it will take for drivers in any IMCA division to make themselves eligible for contingency awards to be given for the 2024 race season. Drivers can click here to go to the form, which is also on the IMCA website using the forms menu, to complete the process in a matter of minutes. Drivers will be asked to indicate the make of cylinder head, shock and spring they compete with this season, and attach a picture of their car displaying required decal placement. “This is a quick and easy one-stop process,” said IMCA Marketing Integration and Sponsorship Director Carson Becker-Gramm. “No paperwork is involved and drivers can make themselves eligible for point fund shares and contingency awards and then focus on racing.” Decal packets are mailed from the IMCA home office daily.

Texas Grand win is career seventh for Babbitt

CLEVELAND, Texas (March 2, 2024) – The Texas Grand has been a racing tradition for nearly three decades and Corey Babbitt has made a tradition of winning the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lite at the 105 Motor Speedway special. The New Caney driver led all but the first of 30 laps Saturday night in earning his career seventh Texas Grand crown and $1,500. “We had two grooves to race on. They dropped the green and we took off,” said Babbitt, who negotiated heavy lapped traffic and then put some distance on the rest of the field in a green, white, checkered finish. Babbitt’s Texas Grand success includes a streak of three straight at Cleveland and one prior title driving for himself. Johnny Brown Jr., 12th starting Taylor Hunter, 14th starting Joseph McIntyre and Christopher Buxton completed the top five. Hard charger James Rollins started 18th and finished sixth. “To win seven of these is awesome. I’ve tried to win this race in a Modified but it always seemed like something happened,” Babbitt said. “I’ve been pretty luck [Read More]

Sisson is Sunday IMCA Mod Lite star at Winterfest

LEWISBURG, Tenn. (Feb. 18, 2024) – Other than the fact he didn’t win, Cody Sisson was fuzzy on the details of his finish the only other time he raced at Duck River Raceway Park, eight years ago. Odds are that he’ll remember everything about his Sunday showing there. Sisson dominated the second half of the 30-lapper for Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites in collecting the $3,000 Winterfest checkers. “It’s a career-best payday for us,” said Sisson, a nine-year veteran of the class and from Talbott, a 3-1/2 hour hoof to the east, “and we’ve worked hard for it.” On board the RB Motorsports car out of Steubenville, Ohio, for the fourth season, Sisson started the Tennessee Mod Lite Racing Association main event from fourth, took over third early on and then moved to second following a lap six restart. He passed for the lead on lap 11 and was never challenged. “We ran the last half of the race in lapped traffic,” he said, “and had about a straightaway lead toward the end.” Logan [Read More]

Sweet repeat for Raffurty at Sugar Bowl Winter Nationals

CLEWISTON, Fla. (Feb. 10, 2024) – His week of racing at Hendry County Motorsports Park was very different than last February, but the end results were just as sweet for Dillon Raffurty. Raffurty repeated his Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lite main event winning ways Saturday night, earning $5,000 for the Sugar Bowl Winter Nationals victory at Clewiston. While he’d dominated in Wednesday through Saturday shows in 2023, Raffurty bookended race of champions and main event wins around a DNF in the manufacturers’ dash and two third-place finishes in Twin 25 features on Thursday and Friday this time around. “Things were very different this year, that’s for sure,” the Kansas City, Mo., star said following IMCA win number 90 and his second big money checkers already this season. “They got the track prepped really good Saturday, with multiple grooves.” “I knew the bottom would come in and I ran the top side until it did.” Raffurty led the first 21 circuits before Ronnie Choate motored by. He needed a couple laps to find the fastest [Read More]

Raffurty races to big money at Brick City Nationals

OCALA, Fla. (Feb. 2-3, 2024) – Most of Dillon Raffurty’s first visit to Ocala Speedway was spent as a spectator. Saturday night, he was the $4,000 Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lite feature winner at the Florida speed plant’s Brick City Nationals. The Kansas City, Mo., hotshoe began his quest for a fourth consecutive IMCA national championship as runner-up to Tennessee star Ronnie Choate in Friday’s $1,000 to win main event at Ocala. He flipped the script the next night in topping the big money show, 1.2 seconds ahead of Choate following multiple cautions late in the 30-lapper. “We went back and forth Friday and I led early but caught lapped traffic at the wrong time and he got by me. I was able to make it close at the end but it was too little, too late,” said Raffurty. “Ronnie was fast early but I figured it out near midway,” he continued, after IMCA career win number 89 on Saturday. “Ocala is a very unique track. You can get creative there with the way [Read More]
