BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 10, 2026) — Winton, Calif.’s Paul Stone survived a race filled with challenges and late restarts Thursday night to capture his first career B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Stock Car Invitational victory during the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s at Boone Speedway.
Stone grabbed the lead on the opening lap but immediately found himself in a battle with 2022 Marshalltown Speedway champion Michael Jaennette. The three-time defending Merced Speedway champion kept Jaennette behind him and eventually began to build an advantage.
Behind Stone, Jeff Ware and Tyler Wilson put on a strong battle for second. Wilson, winner of this year’s IMCA Summer Nationals at Independence Motor Speedway and the 2023 Wisconsin State champion, worked his way into contention before a caution on lap 12 erased Stone’s advantage.
Stone, Ware, and Wilson went three-wide for the lead on the restart, but Stone managed to remain out front.
Two-time defending U.S. 30 Speedway track champion Ware finally found a way underneath Stone on lap 16 and beat him to the line. Stone answered immediately, using the top of the track to regain the lead on the following circuit.
Wilson appeared to make his move on lap 19, getting around Stone for the lead through the turns, but a caution came out before the lap could be completed, putting Stone back out front.
Cautions on laps 20 and 21 kept the field bunched together and gave Stone more company at the front.
Tony Olson and John Oliver Jr. went three-wide with Stone following the final restart, but Stone emerged from the battle with the lead and once again began to pull away.
Two-time defending Independence Motor Speedway Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod track champion Olson began closing the gap on lap 26, but Stone responded and drove away to secure his first career All-Star Invitational victory.
Olson finished second, while three-time reigning Iowa State and 12-time defending 34 Raceway track champion Oliver crossed the line third.
Two-time defending Benton County Speedway SportMod track champion Kyle Olson finished fourth, and 2025 Sunoco IMCA Late Model Super Nationals winner Jesse Sobbing completed the top five.
