MINOT, N.D. (Aug. 16, 2026) — Caden Appelt overcame a flat tire and a trip to the hot pits to capture his second career $2,000-to-win Bonnie Beeter Memorial for Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks Sunday night at Nodak Speedway.

The 40-lap event honoring the late Bonnie Beeter, featured multiple lead changes and plenty of drama over the closing laps.

Diezel Raynard and Alan Bertsch led the field to green, with Bertsch taking the early advantage. Raynard and Appelt soon moved into contention, both getting around Bertsch before exchanging sliders for several laps.

Appelt eventually secured the top spot and appeared in control until a right rear tire went flat on lap 26, forcing the Minot driver to the hot pits.

Raynard inherited the lead for the restart with 14 laps remaining, while Appelt began working his way back into contention. The complexion of the race changed again with five laps to go when Raynard spun, handing the lead back to Appelt.

Given a second opportunity, Appelt made it count. He controlled the final five circuits to secure his second Bonnie Beeter Memorial victory.

It was Appelt’s ninth B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region win of the season, with eight of those victories coming at Nodak Speedway.

Kyler Satran finished second, Pat Smith was third, Nathan Medler charged from 16th starting to fourth, and Brody Beeter rounded out the top five.

Hagen Charges From 19th for Second Straight Monte Lundy Memorial Win

Travis Hagen put together an 18-position charge to capture his second consecutive $2,000-to-win Monte Lundy Memorial for Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds.

Steven Pfeifer and Jared Thelen brought the field to green for the 30-lap feature, with Pfeifer jumping out front. His time in command ended on lap three when he spun in turn three to bring out the first caution.

Aaron Turnbull inherited the lead, but several cautions kept the field bunched together. On a restart with 22 laps remaining, Turnbull bounced over the cushion, allowing Chris Tuchscherer to take command.

Hagen, meanwhile, was steadily making his way through the field after starting 19th.

The McGregor driver eventually reached second and battled Tuchscherer for two laps before securing the lead with 20 circuits remaining. Hagen later held off challenges from Brady Bjella to complete the charge and earn his second straight Monte Lundy Memorial victory.

The win was Hagen’s 11th Razor Chassis North Central Region triumph of 2026 and fifth at Nodak Speedway.

The Monte Lundy Memorial was also a qualifying event for the Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational, which will be held during the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Hagen was already on the eligibility list to attempt to qualify for the invitational.

Bjella finished second, Pfeifer recovered from his early spin to take third, Marcus Tomlinson was fourth, and Turnbull completed the top five.
