Adams Breaks Through for First Carolina Sprint Tour Victory

RURAL RETREAT, Va. (Aug. 1, 2026) — Coby Adams returned to victory lane Saturday night, earning his first career Carolina Sprint Tour presented by GSR Chassis feature victory at Wythe Raceway after leading nearly the entire 25-lap main event.

Following an afternoon of rain showers, the series completed its second visit to the Virginia oval with Adams charging from third starting position to the lead before the opening lap was completed.

Josh Shantz and Tyler Lewis occupied the front row, but both encountered issues getting up to speed at the start. Adams quickly capitalized, racing to the point entering the opening corners while Jake McLain followed him into second.

Adams controlled the pace through the opening 15 laps before a dramatic red flag on lap 16. Tyler Lewis made contact with the turn four wall while battling for fourth, sending his machine flipping. Ben McCall and Robert Tyler were also collected in the incident. All three drivers escaped uninjured.

The restart provided McLain one final opportunity to challenge for the victory, but Adams remained composed over the closing nine laps and pulled away to secure the win.

The victory was Adams’ first career Carolina Sprint Tour presented by GSR Chassis triumph. It also marked his first Sprint Car victory since winning at Atomic Motor Speedway in 2006 and his first overall feature victory since a Micro Sprint win at Southern Raceway in 2021.

McLain finished second, Shantz completed the podium in third, George Loux crossed the stripe fourth, and Greg Smyre rounded out the top five.

Earlier in the evening, Tyler Lewis paced Radical Race Gear Hot Laps with a quick lap of 17.140 seconds. Heat race victories went to Loux and McLain.

The Carolina Sprint Tour presented by GSR Chassis returns to action Friday, Aug. 7, at Carolina Speedway for Round Four of the K-Town Pub & Pizza Mini Series.

Scarborough Breaks Through for First Carolina Sprint Tour Victory at Carolina Speedway

(June 5, 2026) — Caleb Scarborough turned in the biggest performance of his young sprint car career Friday night, leading from the outset and holding off several Carolina Sprint Tour veterans to earn his first career victory with the Carolina Sprint Tour Presented by GSR Chassis at Carolina Speedway. Nineteen RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars filled the pit area for the third round of the K-Town Pizza and Pub Mini Series. The event also welcomed sprint car veterans Tanner Berryhill of Oklahoma, and Coby Adams of Mooresville, for their Carolina Sprint Tour debuts. Nick Tucker Conquers Chaos at Carolina Speedway

(May 16, 2025) — The Carolina Sprint Tour presented by GSR Chassis brought high horsepower and heart-pounding action to the red clay of Carolina Speedway on Friday night. With temperatures hovering at a warm 86 degrees, the atmosphere was electric, and the fans were treated to a wild night of sprint car racing that saw Nick Tucker of Spanaway, Washington, take the win in dramatic fashion. (Apr. 18, 2026) — A scorching April afternoon set the stage in the valleys of North Carolina as 16 RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars rolled into Friendship Motor Speedway for the Carolina Sprint Tour’s first appearance at the facility since 2021. The night opened with Radical Race Gear hot laps, where Pennsylvania’s Trevor Gach continued his early-season speed streak. Piloting the Carber Racing entry, Gach topped the charts for the second consecutive event with a blistering lap of 15.186 seconds. Heat race action proved eventful. Matthew Wall went for a tumble in turn three, bringing a collective pause from the crowd—fortunately, he emerged unharmed. Lafferty Captures Prestigious Camp Barnes Benefit Race

(July 31, 2026) — Rick Lafferty charged from third to victory Friday night, passing race-long leader Robbie Stillwaggon with five laps remaining to capture the prestigious Camp Barnes Benefit Race at Georgetown Speedway with the DCB Plumbing & Heating Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series presented by Capitol Renegade. Stillwaggon led from the drop of the green, while Lafferty settled into third behind Robbie and Ryan Stillwaggon during the early stages of the 25-lap feature. Phillips Wins One for the Blue-Collar Veterans at Selinsgrove

By Frank Buhrman SELINSGROVE, Pa. (Aug. 1, 2026) — Chad Phillips raced for years before stepping away from the sport, then returned simply because he still loved racing. Saturday night at Selinsgrove Speedway, the Gratz driver earned a victory that fit that story perfectly, leading all 20 laps of the River Valley Builders PA Sprint Series feature. Phillips moved to the inside of the front row after a false start reordered the lineup, took the lead from Tyler Snook at the drop of the green, and never looked back. He threaded his way through lapped traffic and maintained the top spot through a pair of late restarts before taking the checkered flag.
