GILLETTE, Wyo. (July 4, 2026) — Independence Day racing at Gillette Thunder Speedway belonged to Darran Conrad, who led every lap after the start of the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature to earn his second DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region victory of the season, both coming at his home track.

Starting alongside polesitter Maklain Harrison, Conrad took command when the green flag waved and never relinquished the lead despite several restarts throughout the contest.

Kinzer McCord advanced to finish second. Kyle Anton completed the podium, Adam Boggs climbed to fourth, and Kade Bahr rounded out the top five.

Jones Makes Last-Lap Pass for Hobby Stock Victory

Brad Jones saved his best move for the final lap in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature.

After Wallace Morgan scratched from the pole, Mike Merchen inherited the top starting spot and led the opening two laps before Joel Magee took command on lap three. Magee appeared headed for victory until a late caution erased his advantage.

Jones, who started 10th, closed in on the restart and muscled past Magee in turns one and two as the white flag waved. He completed the pass and held on over the final circuit to score the victory after advancing nine positions, also earning Hard Charger honors.

The New Ulm, Minnesota, driver earned his second Gillette Thunder Speedway victory of the season and now owns six B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region wins in 2026.

Magee finished second, Alan McNeil was third, Abigail Boggs took fourth, and Merchen completed the top five.

Donmyer Adds to Win Total in Sport Compact Feature

Robert Donmyer took the lead on the opening lap and never looked back in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact main event.

After polesitter Cason Nash led the field to green, Donmyer quickly worked into the top spot and paced the remaining distance for the victory.

The Gillette native now has 11 victories this season, including five at Gillette Thunder Speedway.

Kristi Dorn charged forward to finish second, Nash settled for third, Tristen Dilts was fourth, and Layne Dilts completed the top five.
