RAPID CITY, S.D. (July 3, 2026) — Eric Mass put together a perfect night in Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified competition, winning both the regularly scheduled feature and the June 26 makeup event Friday at Black Hills Speedway.
In the regularly scheduled feature, Adam Boggs started on the pole before fading to fifth. Mass, who rolled off fifth, charged to the lead and paced the final 10 laps to earn his second victory of the night. Brent Nielsen finished second, Kade Bahr was third, Brett Pudwill advanced from sixth to fourth, and Boggs rounded out the top five.
Mass completed the sweep in the June 26 makeup feature. Boggs again started on the pole before slipping to third, while Mass took the lead after the opening lap from his fifth starting spot and remained out front the rest of the distance. Bahr finished second, Boggs was third, Nate Hand came home fourth, and Mike Dimond completed the top five.
The Rapid City driver now owns seven IMCA Modified victories this season, including six in the Razor Chassis North Central Region, with all coming at Black Hills Speedway.
Jones Sweeps Hobby Stock Features
Brad Jones also enjoyed a stellar evening by sweeping the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock features, including the June 26 makeup race.
In the regularly scheduled feature, Kayla Hanna started from the pole before fading to ninth. Joel Magee appeared headed for victory after opening nearly a three-second advantage, but a caution with three laps remaining erased his lead.
Jones, who started 12th, capitalized on the single-file restart to make the winning pass and score the victory. Magee settled for second after advancing eight positions, Samantha Swett charged from sixth to third, Alan McNeil gained five spots to finish fourth, and Doug Pudwill completed the top five.
Jones also claimed the June 26 makeup feature, which resumed with two laps already completed and Jones leading with 10 laps remaining. He stayed out front to complete the sweep, while Magee again finished second. Abigail Boggs came home third, Samantha Swett charged from 13th to fourth, and Alan McNeil rounded out the top five.
Jones earned Hard Charger honors in both races, advancing 11 positions in the regularly scheduled feature and nine positions in the makeup event.
The New Ulm, Minnesota, driver now owns five B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victories in 2026, with two of those coming at Black Hills Speedway.
