ALGONA, Iowa (June 11, 2026) — Alec Fett put together an impressive drive in the Scott Cook One-Eye Memorial SportMod Nationals, charging from 12th starting position to collect the $1,000 payday and his first victory of the season in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod division at Kossuth County Speedway.

Josh Appel led the opening lap before Cole Suckow took over on lap two and appeared poised to challenge for the win. Fett steadily worked his way forward through multiple restarts and moved into contention by the midway point of the 20-lap feature.

A caution on lap nine for Jake Simpson’s flat tire slowed the action, and another yellow followed after contact between Jacob Korte and Mat Hollerich ended both drivers’ evenings.

Suckow remained in command until lap 12, when Fett powered around him on the high side of the backstretch to take over the lead. A final caution for Bailey Stimson’s mechanical issues on lap 14 tightened the field one last time, but Fett was flawless on the restart and drove away for the victory.

Suckow finished second while Mike Smith rallied from ninth to third. Jared Boumeester and Appel completed the top five.

Colby Fett Rallies from 10th for Stock Car Score

The Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature saw Colby Fett of Algona advance from 10th starting position to capture his third EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season and second at Kossuth County Speedway.

Zayn Feaster paced the opening five laps before Chad Palmer took command on lap six. Palmer and Fett separated themselves from the field during the middle stages before Fett made the winning move on lap 14.

Palmer crossed the line second while Troy Swearingen charged from eighth to third. Kelly Shryock advanced from ninth to fourth and Derek Green completed an impressive run from 15th to fifth.

DaRagon Dominates Hobby Stock Main Event

Nathan DaRagon of Peoria, Arizona, started sixth and earned his fourth B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of the season, and second at Algona, in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature.

Jade Lange led the first five laps before DaRagon took over the top spot on lap six. Once in clean air, DaRagon steadily increased his advantage despite a caution on lap 13 for C.J. McGregor.

Brandon Nielsen turned in one of the night’s strongest drives, advancing from 10th to finish second. Bryce Sommerfeld was third, followed by Lange and Doug Wickman.

Mills Collects Fifth Modified Victory of 2026

Jeremy Mills of Clear Lake started fifth and drove to his fifth victory of the season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region, including his second triumph at Kossuth County Speedway.

Pole sitter Brian Mahlstedt led the opening lap before Mills grabbed the lead on lap two. Chaz Baca kept pressure on the leader throughout the second half of the 20-lap feature, but Mills maintained a comfortable advantage to secure the win.

Baca finished second, Mahlstedt was third, Colby Fett fourth, and Matt Looft rounded out the top five.
