ALGONA, Iowa (May 14, 2026) — Colby Fett put together a dominant night Thursday at Kossuth County Speedway, sweeping both the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car and Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified features.

In the 20-lap Stock Car feature, Fett grabbed the early lead before an early caution on lap two slowed the field. Another yellow on lap eight was the only thing delaying the Algona driver’s trip to victory lane as he collected his first EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region win of the season.

Ryan Roath finished second while Kelly Shryock advanced from ninth to third. Wayne Landheer took fourth and Chad Palmer completed the top five. Palmer and Fett captured the Stock Car heat race wins earlier in the evening.

Fett returned later in the night to lead all 20 laps of the IMCA Modified feature, which went green-white-checkered, to complete the double victory. The triumph marked Fett’s first career IMCA Modified feature win and his first Razor Chassis North Central Region score.

Jeremy Mills finished second while Chaz Baca was third. Mills and Baca won the Modified heat races earlier in the program.

Once again, the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks had the largest car count of the night with 23 entries checked into the pit area.

Ethan Dirks and Nathan DeRagon brought the field to green before an immediate caution flew when Jaxon Daniels spun and collected Jay Sidles.

On the restart, DeRagon jumped out front, but another caution appeared on lap three when Nash Palmer spun. Once racing resumed, DeRagon and Bryce Sommerfeld separated themselves from the field in a two-car battle for the lead.

Meanwhile, a spirited battle for third unfolded between Doug Wickman, Dan Hanselman, and Steve Wickman. DeRagon, from Peoria, Ariz., maintained command all 15 laps to secure his first B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region win of the season.

Sommerfeld crossed the line second while Doug Wickman charged from 10th to third. Hanselman climbed from 12th to fourth and Steve Wickman advanced from 16th to fifth to earn hard charger honors. James Burns, Brett Doege, and DeRagon were Hobby Stock heat race winners earlier in the evening.

The Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods saw Jake Simpson take the early lead before a lap one caution when Jacob Korte, Josh Appel, and Slade Fitzgerald tangled exiting turn four.

The event stayed green after a lap seven caution for Mat Hollerich as Simpson, from Algona, led every lap to earn his first win of the season.

Alec Fett finished second while Jacob Tacheny ran third. Drew Fett was fourth and George Nordman rallied from 10th to complete the top five.

The RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars made their first of four scheduled appearances at Kossuth County Speedway this season.

The 20-lap feature went green-white-checkered as Sioux Falls, S.D., driver Corbin Erickson led from the outset and never looked back for the victory. Logan Moore finished second while Andrew Sullivan placed third. Erickson also won the division’s lone heat race.

The event was broadcast live on IMCA TV. Catch every lap again with the IMCA TV Replay Subscription, available for just $25.99/month. And don’t miss Season 2 of the Boone Docuseries, streaming exclusively on IMCA TV.
